This 1951 Ford Custom Deluxe convertible reportedly remained with its prior owner for 40 years before being acquired by the seller in 2016. The car is finished in green over green leather upholstery and is powered by a 239ci flathead V8 mated to a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission and a 3.73:1 differential. Equipment includes a tan convertible top, hubcaps, whitewall tires, a stainless-steel exhaust system, chrome trim, a hood ornament, driving lights, seatbelts, a heater, a clock, and a push-button AM radio. This Custom Deluxe convertible is now offered with an Ohio title in the seller’s name. The body is finished in metallic green, and the seller states that areas near the convertible-top actuators were repainted under prior ownership. Equipment includes a power-operated tan convertible top with a two-tone green parade boot as well as a split windshield, yellow-lens driving lights, and chrome trim on the bumpers, side moldings, light surrounds, and grille. The translucent parts of the hood ornament exhibit discoloration. The seller notes that the soft top was replaced under prior ownership, and the power-top mechanism operates slowly; the roof is shown in both its raised and lowered positions in the photo gallery below. Body-color 15″ steel wheels wear bright hubcaps along with 205/75 whitewall radial tires, and a matching spare is stowed in the trunk. Braking is handled by unassisted four-wheel drums. The bench seats are trimmed in green leather with black accents that stretch to the tri-tone door panels. Interior equipment includes a heater, vent windows, bright doorsill protectors, sun visors, a manual-wound analog clock, and a push-button AM radio. Lap belts for the front occupants were fitted under current ownership. Images showing frayed door-panel stitching are provided in the gallery. The two-spoke steering wheel features a full horn ring and fronts a combination gauge with a 100-mph speedometer and readouts for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 39k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership. The 239ci flathead V8 features a single downdraft carburetor with an oil-bath air cleaner in addition to a gold-painted block, intake manifold, and air-cleaner assembly. A battery shut-off was installed and the battery was replaced under current ownership. The spark plugs were replaced in August 2019. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission and a 3.73:1 differential. The seller notes that a stainless-steel exhaust system is installed. Additional underside images are presented in the gallery. The Ohio title lists a “NON-ACTUAL: WARNING Odometer Discrepancy” notation in reference to the mileage brand.
