This 1963 Lincoln Continental convertible was acquired by the seller in 2021, and subsequent work consisted of overhauling the brakes, rebuilding the transmission and window switches, re-trimming the interior, performing an engine tune-up, and replacing the torque converter and engine gaskets as well as fuel system, suspension, steering, and convertible top components. Power is provided by a 430ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in white over black leather and white vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a power-operated white soft top, power-assisted steering and brakes, powder-coated 14″ steel wheels, reverse-hinged rear doors, power windows, a push-button AM radio, and an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and ignition coil. This Continental is now offered with a build sheet, a spare coolant overflow reservoir, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name. The body is finished in white, and details include a power-operated white soft top, quadruple headlights, reverse-hinged rear doors, and chrome bumpers and moldings. The convertible top pump, solenoids, and hydraulic lines were reportedly replaced under current ownership. The power antenna does not work, and paint blemishes and areas of corrosion are shown in the gallery below. The 14″ steel wheels are said to have been stripped and refinished in black and are mounted with American Classic whitewall tires that were installed under current ownership. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners. Work under current ownership is said to include overhauling the brakes and installing the following: Upper and lower ball joints Front shock absorbers and coil springs Front wheel bearings and dust caps Linkpins and bushings Brake lines and hoses Steering gearbox and bushings Idler arm Center link Steering column lower bushing The front and rear bench seats were reupholstered in black leather with white vinyl accents under current ownership. Appointments include electric windows, power door locks, folding center armrests, and a push-button AM radio. The door window switches were reportedly reconditioned under current ownership. The power-adjustable front seat does not work, and the rear-window auto-lowering function when opening the doors works intermittently. The three-spoke steering wheel features a half-horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 1,800 miles, approximately 500 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 430ci V8 was reportedly rebuilt under prior ownership. Work performed under current ownership is said to consist of installing an aluminum radiator and replacing the head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and intake and exhaust manifold gaskets as well as the ignition condenser, distributor cap, rotor, points, and spark plugs and wires. An Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke has been installed. The fuel tank was reportedly cleaned out and refinished, a Holley electric fuel pump was installed, and the fuel tank straps, hangers, and hardware were replaced. Paint is flaking on the underside of the hood, and the hood cable release is broken. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a dual-range three-speed automatic transmission, which is said to have been rebuilt under current ownership. Rear differential fluid service was performed in preparation for the sale. Corrosion is visible on underbody components. The serial number reveals the car is a 1963 four-door convertible model built in Wixom, Michigan, and equipped with a 430ci V8 and four-barrel carburetor. Decoding the door tag reveals the following information: Body: 74A – Four-door convertible Color: M – Ermine White Trim: 96  – White and black leather upholstery Date: 21M  – December 21st, 1962 build date DSO: 41 – Chicago, Illinois, delivery district Axle: 1 – Standard differential with 2.89:1 gearing Transmission: 4 – Dual-Range three-speed automatic A build sheet is included in the sale as well as a spare coolant overflow reservoir.
