1968 Chevrolet Corvette C3

This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is powered by a 427ci L36 V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and the exterior was refinished in red in 2013 and the cabin was refurbished in black in 2022. Additional work included replacing the black convertible soft top and 15″ Rally-style wheels as well as converting the hideaway headlights and windshield wipers to electric operation. The car is also equipped with a Positraction differential, a removable hardtop, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, a Hurst shifter, and an AM/FM radio. This C3 convertible was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024 and is now offered with a clean Connecticut title. The car was factory-finished in Rally Red (974) and repainted in 2013, and the rear deck panel was refinished in 2022. The headlights and windshield wipers were converted to electric systems in 2022, and a replacement black soft top was installed. Additional features include a removable hardtop, hideaway headlights, a driver-side mirror, and dual exhaust outlets. The 15″ Rally wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps and are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The wheels and rear calipers were replaced in November 2021. The cabin left the factory trimmed in red vinyl (407) and was refurbished in black in 2023. The seats, door panels, console panels, dashboard panel, carpeting, shift boot, shift knob, gauge cluster panel, and windshield pillar panel were replaced. Amenities include a Hurst shifter, a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts. The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a telescopic column and frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,600-rpm redline, while auxiliary gauges for fuel level, battery charge, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles, approximately 25 of which were added under current ownership. The 427ci L36 V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel Rochester carburetor and was rated at 390 horsepower when new. The carburetor was rebuilt and the distributor cap and rotor were replaced in 2022. The engine stamping is shown above. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential.
