This 1953 Jaguar XK120 roadster has been refurbished, and it was acquired by the seller’s father in 1997. The car is finished in gray over red leather upholstery and is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes dual SU carburetors, 16″ steel wheels, fender-mounted side mirrors, removable wheel spats, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. Previously listed on BaT in June 2023 and August 2023, this XK120 is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a tool roll, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name. The car left the factory finished in Birch Grey and was refinished in its current shade as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. Equipment includes a chrome split front bumper, rear bumperettes, fender-mounted side mirrors, and removable wheel spats. The seller states the black convertible top was previously replaced but cannot be stretched to fasten properly. The majority of the photos in the gallery were taken in May 2023. The 16″ steel wheels wear painted hubcaps and are mounted with 195/80 Bridgestone Ecopia EPO2 tires. The four-wheel drum brakes were overhauled in 2022, which involved replacing the front wheel cylinders. Corrosion is visible on the wheel trim rings. The cabin features bucket seats with red leather upholstery complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include a heater, a passenger-side grab handle, door map pockets, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. Corrosion in the left door jamb is noted. The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The speedometer gasket is loose and interferes with the indicator needle. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six features dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 160 horsepower. The heater core was repaired and the carburetors were synchonized in November 2022. Additional work completed at this time involved replacing the intake manifold gasket, water pump assembly, and the batteries and is shown in an invoice in the image gallery below. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers. A tool roll will also accompany the car.
