This 1947 Cadillac Series 62 convertible was built into a custom street rod under prior ownership, and it is powered by a fuel-injected 5.7-liter Chevrolet LT1 V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Finished in black, the exterior has been shaved, nosed, and decked, and it features a body-color grille, frenched headlights, and fender skirts with decorative cutouts. Custom interior work involved installing a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a wood-patterned dashboard and center console, a Billet Specialties steering wheel, Vintage Air climate control, a JVC head unit, and embroidered sun visors. Additional build details include a power-operated soft top, VDO instrumentation, exhaust headers, American Racing 18” wheels, an independent front suspension, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes. Acquired by the seller in 2022, this modified Series 62 convertible is now offered with a car cover and a clean Idaho title in the seller’s name. The car was nosed and decked, trim and moldings were shaved, the headlights were frenched, the bumper mounts were filled, and mesh-backed cutouts were added to the fender skirts during the build. The car was then repainted in black along with the grille, hood ornament, and taillight bezels. An LED-strip center brake light has been installed in the rear valance, and the power-operated soft top is complemented by a color-coordinated boot. Paint chips, cracks, and scratches are shown up close in the image gallery below along with deterioration on the hood emblem. Polished American Racing 18” wheels are mounted with 235/45 Kelly Charger HPT tires. The car rides on a boxed frame with an independent front suspension system and rear leaf springs. Power-assisted steering and four-wheel disc brakes have also been added. The customized cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in tan and beige upholstery that extends to the door panels. The contoured dashboard sweeps into an integrated center console, both of which are finished in burl wood. The Vintage Air climate control panel and JVC EXAD head unit are angled toward the driver, and two cupholders have been incorporated along with a flush-mounted glove compartment and a covered storage bin. The driver’s seat is power-adjustable, Cadillac-script embroidery has been added to the sun visors, black carpets line the floors, and lap belts have been installed. A button cover is missing on the driver’s seat. The Billet Specialties steering wheel fronts a 120-mph VDO speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary VDO gauges are mounted in the center stack. The digital odometer indicates 2k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The fuel-injected 5.7-liter Chevrolet LT1 V8 features Corvette-branded decorative covers, chrome valve covers, and polished accessories. The aluminum radiator is cooled by an electric puller fan, and short-tube headers flow into a dual exhaust system with rectangular finishers. An Optima Red Top battery is mounted in the trunk. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The car is titled using Iowa assigned identification number IA045353.
