This 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata spent time in Maryland and Wisconsin before it was acquired by the seller in 2015. It was subsequently modified with the installation of a 5.7-liter LS6 V8, “243”-stamp cylinder heads, an LS7-specification clutch, a rebuilt six-speed Tremec T56 transmission, a Getrag limited-slip differential, an NB2-style front bumper cover and headlights, Fox single-adjustable coilovers with Eibach springs, and Cadillac CTS-V-sourced belt-driven accessories along with an aftermarket front subframe, oil pan, aluminum radiator, fuel pump, exhaust system, and more as detailed below. Finished in red over black cloth, the car also features a body-color removable hardtop, a Hard Dog roll bar and harness bar, 15″ Advanti Storm S2 wheels, air conditioning, power windows, and a CD stereo. This NB indicates 100k miles and is offered with a Flyin’ Miata V8 installation guide, service records, parts invoices, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name. The NB Miata was introduced for the 1999 model year, and this example left the factory finished in Classic Red. The car has been modified with an NB2-style front bumper cover and headlight assemblies, the latter of which have been converted to utilize HID bulbs, and additional features include a body-color removable hardtop, a Hard Dog bolt-in roll bar and harness bar, Singular Motorsports hood vents, and Aercoatch lockable hood latches. The seller notes that the mirror housings have been refinished, and the car is not equipped with a soft top. Noted blemishes include a dent at the junction of the left-rear quarter panel and the rear bumper cover, dings on various panels, and chips in the finish around the body. Bronze-finished 15″ Advanti Storm S2 wheels are mounted with 245/40 BFGoodrich g-Force Rival tires with production date codes from 2017. The four-wheel disc brakes have been fitted with StopTech four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers. Suspension modifications include Fox single-adjustable coilovers, Eibach 550-lb front and 375-lb rear springs, and a Flyin’ Miata front anti-roll bar. The bucket seats are trimmed in black cloth and are accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include air conditioning, a spherical shift knob, a CD stereo linked to replacement speakers, and power windows. The three-spoke Nardi steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 100k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The replacement 5.7-liter LS6 V8 is equipped with “243”-stamp cylinder heads and was installed in 2019. Additional modifications include the following components: Cadillac CTS-V-sourced belt-driven accessories Paco Motorsports Strong Arms cowl braces V8 Roadsters front subframe V8 Roadsters aluminum trap-door oil pan Flyin’ Miata strut tower brace Flyin’ Miata stainless-steel dual exhaust system with integrated catalysts Fluidyne aluminum triple-row radiator 2,350-cfm cooling fan DeatschWerks 325-lph fuel pump The oil was changed in July 2024, and the seller notes a power-steering fluid leak. The car is equipped with an LS7-specification clutch and a six-speed Tremec T56 manual transmission that was rebuilt with carbon blocker rings, billet synchronizer keys, and brass fork pads under current ownership. The car is reportedly equipped with Flyin’ Miata frame rails and a V8 Roadsters “Stage 2” driveline kit including a heavy-duty driveshaft, axles, and forged hubs. The seller states that the Getrag limited-slip differential has been re-sealed, the driveline fluids were changed in July 2024, and a ceramic insulation product was applied to the cabin and trunk floors. Photos illustrating various stages of the build can be viewed in the gallery below. A Flyin’ Miata LSx V8 installation guide and parts invoices will accompany the car. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Maryland and Wisconsin. Filed under: eunos, mx-5, mx5, nb, nb miata
