1955 Chevrolet Nomad

This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is a two-door station wagon that is finished in Nutmeg Brown Metallic over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 350ci V8 mated to a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. The powertrain swap was reportedly performed during a refurbishment in 1978, and additional equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, independent rear suspension, dual exhaust outlets, American Racing wheels, a Hurst shifter, Summit Racing auxiliary gauges, and a push-button stereo. This Nomad is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Pennsylvania title. The Nomad wagon debuted for the 1955 model year and was the most expensive car of Chevrolet’s Bel Air model range. This example was reportedly refurbished in the late 1970s and is finished in Nutmeg Brown Metallic. Features include one-piece “California” bumpers, wrap-around rear window glass, “Bel Air” and “Nomad” badging, a split-opening tailgate, and chrome trim. A three-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring fronts a 110-mph speedometer. An aftermarket 8k-rpm tachometer with a shift light has been added to the steering column, while Summit auxiliary gauges for oil pressure and water temperature are mounted below the dashboard. The odometer shows 15k miles, though true mileage is unknown. The 350ci V8 is fitted with MSD ignition and sends power to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 3.31:1 rear end.
