This 2004 Lotus Elise Motorsport is a left-hand drive competition car that has been prepared for participation in SCCA racing. The car reportedly remained with the original owner until the selling dealer’s recent acquisition, and it is equipped with a replacement 1.8-liter DOHC inline-four mated to a 6-speed manual transaxle. Lotus Motorsport modifications include a limited-slip differential, roll cage, racing seats, fire extinguishing system, and a removable Momo steering wheel. The previous owner installed an adjustable Nitron suspension, short shift kit, and upgraded rotors, as well as a handful of cosmetic alterations described below. This Elise track car is not street legal, and it is now being offered for sale in New York with service records and part receipts. Front and rear spoilers and a larger rear diffuser were added by the previous owner. The rear clamshell was replaced following an on-track incident, and the rear window was removed to provide increased air flow to the cabin. The red finish is pictured from a number of angles in various lighting conditions in the gallery below. Black 16” alloy wheels are shod in Hoosier racing slicks, and the braking system features upgraded rotors and pads. Gallery photographs show a crack in the windshield as well as an area of damage on the lower air dam. Interior features include racing seats, 6-point harnesses for both driver and passenger, a removable Momo steering wheel, kill switches, and a plumbed fire extinguisher system. The factory-installed FIA-approved cage was converted to be SCCA-compliant, and the prior owner installed a wink mirror. Instrumentation includes a 260 km/h speedometer and a 10k rpm tachometer. Over 16k kilometers (~10k miles) are shown on the digital odometer. The replacement 1.8L 2ZZGE inline-four is mounted transversely and features a Lotus Motorsport accusump and cat pipe. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle with a short shift kit and a limited-slip differential. A lightweight battery has been installed, and a fluid service was performed last year. The seller recommends a fresh service prior to track use. An adjustable Nitron suspension was installed by the previous owner, and additional undercarriage photos are viewable below.
