This 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo NASCAR racer was acquired approximately four years ago by the seller and reportedly received a mechanical refurbishment by Rhine Enterprises of Denver, North Carolina. Power comes from a 358ci V8 equipped with a Holley 750-cfm carburetor and paired with a Tex Racing T101 four-speed manual transmission. The car features green, white, and gold Skoal Bandit livery, and equipment includes a Banjo Matthews chassis, a full roll cage, fire suppression system, gold-painted wheels with Goodyear slicks, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and a trunk-mounted fuel cell. This Monte Carlo stock car is being offered by the seller in Huntington, New York with a car cover and a bill of sale. Steel bodywork is mounted to a Banjo Matthews chassis (#BP 8542) and is finished in green, white, and gold Skoal Bandit livery with various sponsorship decals and #33 graphics on the roof and both sides. Exterior features include a rear spoiler, hood and trunk pins, side-exit exhaust pipes, and safety straps affixed to the windshield and rear window. Areas of paint checking and flaking are noted by the seller. Gold 15” wheels are mounted with white-letter Goodyear slicks, and stopping power is provided by Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. The interior has been painted green and houses padded chassis bars as well as a single black-vinyl upholstered bucket seat with a RaceQuip five-point harness. Additional features include a window net and a fire suppression system. The two-spoke steering wheel has been wrapped in electrical tape and sits ahead of a 10k-rpm tachometer along with Stewart Warner auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, oil temperature, fuel level, and battery charge. Ignition boxes are mounted on the dash. The 358ci V8 is equipped with a Holley 750-cfm carburetor along with Pontiac 867 aluminum cylinder heads. Additional features include a trunk-mounted 22-gallon fuel cell, Goodridge stainless-steel braided fuel lines, and Automotive Specialists-branded valve covers. The seller reports that the wiring has been replaced. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tex Racing T101 four-speed manual transmission and a differential with 4.11:1 gearing.
