This Diasio D962R race car was built in April 2006 and was acquired by the seller in 2013. The car features fiberglass bodywork finished in red over a tubular steel chassis, and power comes from a replacement modified, turbocharged, and intercooled Mazda 13B-REW rotary engine paired with a Hewland FTR-200 six-speed sequential gearbox with reverse and a limited-slip differential. Additional features include Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ Kodiak three-piece wheels, Penske triple-adjustable shocks, a Quarter Master twin-plate clutch, an AiM data-logger, and an Ultra Shield driver’s seat. This Diasio was last tracked in 2019 and is now offered in New Hampshire with spare parts and a bill of sale. The D962R was designed and manufactured by the Brownsburg, Indiana-based Diasio Car Company. This example features a three-piece fiberglass body finished in red over a tubular steel chassis. Features include front wheel arch louvers, a Lexan windshield, a front wing, a rear diffuser, LED taillights, and a double-element rear wing. A set of uninstalled Lexan side windows is included in the sale. Paint chips are noted by the seller, and the engine cover paint does not match the rest of the body. The 15″ Kodiak three-piece aluminum center-lock wheels measure 9.5″ wide up front and 13″ out back and are mounted with 240/600 front and 330/620 Avon slicks. The D962R features Penske triple-adjustable shocks and was modified with reinforced lower control arms, a rear transaxle support member, and a custom front engine support arm. A Woodward Steering rack and pinion system is fitted. Braking is handled by Wilwood six-piston calipers over 11.75″ vented rotors at all four corners. The 14-gallon fuel cell has expired and should be replaced according to the seller. The cockpit features a single Ultra Shield seat with a Schroth Racing harness. Equipment includes an AiM SmartyCam system, a Wilwood brake bias dial, a roll cage, and a custom dead pedal and heel plate. The fire-suppression system has expired, and the Schroth harness is valid through 2021. A matching passenger seat is included in the sale and can be seen in the gallery. The MOMO steering wheel features a GReddy boost controller and frames an AiM MXL Pista data-logger. A SPA digital brake bias gauge is fitted on the faux carbon-fiber dashboard, and a rear-view camera system is included. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement Mazda 13B-REW twin-rotor engine is said to have been rebuilt and modified in 2016 and is fitted with a Garrett GT35R ball-bearing turbocharger. Additional equipment includes a Microtech programmable ECU, a Turbosmart wastegate and blowoff valve, and a custom oil-injection system. The seller notes a coolant leak after the car has been sitting for extended periods. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Hewland FTR-200 six-speed sequential transaxle with reverse, a Quarter Master twin-plate 5.5″ clutch, and a limited-slip differential. A Moroso three-stage dry-sump pump with a reserve tank is integral to the transaxle housing. The transaxle and clutch are said to have been rebuilt in 2015. A list of specifications, modifications, and included spare parts can be seen in the gallery below.
