This Ford Escort RS Cosworth was reportedly built new as a racing car shell by Ford Motorsport and equipped with a Safety Devices roll cage. The car was reportedly refurbished prior to being imported to California from the UK in January 2021. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four linked to a five-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive. Equipment installed under previous ownership reportedly includes a twin-scroll Borg-Warner EFR 7670 turbocharger, Gaz coilover shocks, and HiSpec Motorsport six-piston front brake calipers as well as Accralite forged pistons and Mahle Performance bearings. According to the seller, the car received several hours of break-in and tuning prior to their purchase and has not yet been used in competition. This Escort is now offered by the seller in California on a bill of sale. The car is finished in white with Red Bull decals and equipped with a front splitter, quad headlights in black housings, hood and roof vents, front and rear towing straps, and a rear wing mated to a decklid spoiler. Scuffs and chips are visible on the front and rear bumper covers, and paint cracks on the rear bumper are shown in the gallery below. Black-finished 18″ Compomotive wheels with red and blue Ford Motorsport lettering wear 245/35 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that show 2021 date codes. HiSpec Motorsport six-piston front brake calipers are connected to braided brake lines and paired with cross-drilled rotors. Gaz adjustable coilovers provide damping, and additional steering and suspension components are detailed on the build sheet that is included in the gallery below. Cobra Monaco Pro racing seats with harness pass-throughs are installed in the right-hand-drive cabin along with a welded roll cage and roof-mounted communications equipment. A fire-suppression system is fed by a tank mounted behind the driver’s seat. OMP drilled-alloy pedals are installed, and checker-plate panels line the front floors. Photos show a broken grab handle on the driver’s door. A three-spoke Momo steering wheel connects with a quick-release coupling and frames white instrument dials. Boost and oil-pressure gauges top the center stack, and a TerraTrip 303 Plus tripmeter faces the passenger seat. The five-digit odometer was reportedly reset during the refurbishment process and shows 196 miles, approximately ten of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown. A Pro Alloy fuel cell feeds the fuel system through braided lines and a Bosch 044 fuel pump. The Cosworth YBT 2.0-liter inline-four is cooled through an Airtec Motorsport radiator, and a strut-tower brace spans the engine compartment. Equipment includes a Borg-Warner twin-scroll EFR 7670 ball-bearing turbocharger and an RS500 intercooler along with the following items: Omex 600 engine control unit Accralite 91.33mm forged pistons Mahle Performance bearings WRC head gasket ARP head studs Roose Motorsport silicone hoses The MT75 five-speed gearbox and rear differential were reconditioned under prior ownership according to the seller. A competition stainless-steel exhaust system is also installed.
