This 1972 Porsche 911T coupe was modified under previous ownership for vintage racing and acquired by the selling dealer on BaT in January 2022. The car is finished in yellow over black upholstery and powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six mated to a five-speed manual transaxle with a Guard limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes staggered-width 15″ Fuchs wheels, upgraded disc brakes, dual Weber 46IDA carburetors, tubular headers, an ATL fuel cell, Bilstein suspension, 930-sourced spindles, Elephant Racing ball joints and suspension bushings, aluminum rear trailing arms, a WEVO shifter and internal shift gate, a roll bar, Sparco fixed-back bucket seats, and Traqmate data acquisition. This modified long-hood 911 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Pennsylvania title. The car was repainted yellow under previous ownership, with bodywork consisting of installing steel rear flares along with a fiberglass hood, ducktail rear spoiler, front fenders, and bumpers from Air International Racing of Burbank, California. Additional exterior details consist of H4 headlights, chrome mirrors, black Carrera lower body graphics, plastic rear windows, a right oil filler door, and dual exhaust outlets. A battery disconnect switch is mounted on the windshield cowl, and repairs have reportedly been made to the fenders and quarter panels using body filler and fiberglass. Fuchs 15″ alloy wheels refinished in black with bright lips are mounted with Nitto NT01 tires measuring 205/50 up front and 225/45 out back. The brakes have been modified with components sourced from a later-model 911 Carrera, as well as dual primary cylinders and reservoirs, a brake proportioning valve, braided stainless-steel lines, Pagid Black brake pads, and later-model 911 cooling ducts. The rear brake rotors are said to have been replaced in 2021, and the suspension has been modified with the following components: Bilstein struts and shocks Adjustable upper shock mounts Weltmeister adjustable front sway bar Rennline adjustable front strut tower brace Elephant Racing adjustable lower ball joints 26mm front torsion bars 32mm rear torsion bars 930-sourced spindles Aluminum rear trailing arms Elephant Racing polyurethane bronze bushings The interior is equipped with Sparco Pro 2000 racing seats trimmed in black cloth, joined by a color-coordinated dashboard and RS-style door panels. The heater components have been removed, and insulated oil cooler lines run along the right footwell. Additional features include an Autopower roll bar, AppBiz RS-style gray carpets, a two-speed blower fan, Rennline dash trim and pedal covers, a WEVO shifter, Traqmate data acquisition, and F.A.S.T. cool shirt connections. The Schroth five-point harnesses are expired, and the blower motor makes excessive noise. A MOMO Prototipo steering wheel is secured with a quick-release hub and frames VDO instrumentation that consists of a central 7k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and combination gauges. The five-digit odometer indicates 56k miles, and true mileage is unknown. A horn is not installed, the fuel-level gauge does not function, and the speedometer reads inaccurately. The factory 2.4-liter flat-six has been replaced with a 3.0-liter flat-six that was reportedly overhauled and modified in 2018. Equipment includes dual Weber 46IDA carburetors, Wossner 10:1 compression pistons, Millennium Technologies Nikasil cylinders, Dougherty camshafts, ARP hardware, MSD electronic ignition, aftermarket tubular headers, SpinTech mufflers, and WEVO semi-solid engine mounts. An aftermarket wiring harness, fuse panel, and an ATL 15-gallon fuel cell with an anti-siphon roll-over valve have also been installed. An oil change was performed in February 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed 915 manual transaxle that is equipped with a Guard limited-slip differential. The transaxle was overhauled and re-geared in 2018, and additional features include a 7:31 ring-and-pinion, a WEVO internal shift gate, semi-solid mounts, and a replacement Sachs clutch and CV axles. Work since 2020 included a shifter adjustment, an oil change, and a compression test. Filed under: long hood, longhood
