This 1962 Volvo P1800 was acquired by the seller around 47 years ago and subsequently converted to a race car for use in the FP class of SCCA competitions. The car has been fitted with fiberglass bodywork finished in white, and power is from a 2.0-liter Volvo B20 inline-four mated to a Quaife “Rocket” four-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a full roll cage with door bars, an ATL fuel cell, fire suppression system, ButlerBuilt fixed-back bucket seat, Simpson harnesses, Öhlins three-way adjustable coilovers, Lexan windows, four-wheel disc brakes with dual Tilton master cylinders, and multi-piece wheels with Goodyear slicks. This P1800 was last on track in October 2021 and is now being offered in Sonoma, California with SCCA logbooks and a bill of sale. The car has been fitted with a fiberglass hood, trunk lid, front end, and flared rear fenders and is finished in white with #36 decals and various sponsorship stickers. Equipment includes Lexan windows, metal headlight covers, a front spoiler, hood and trunk pins, and rear window braces. Various paint chips, scratches, and abrasions are present and shown in the gallery. The 15” multi-piece wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle slicks and mounted on four lug axles up front and five lug units out back. Braking is through four-wheel discs with Wilwood rear calipers and dual Tilton adjustable master cylinders. The car rides on Öhlins three-way adjustable coilovers. The stripped interior houses a single ButlerBuilt fixed-back bucket seat with Simpson harnesses. Additional equipment includes a full roll cage with door bars, a window net, fire suppression system, and a battery mounted to the driver’s right. A Sparco three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an AutoMeter Pro-Comp 10k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary displays. No odometer is fitted, and total mileage is unknown. The 2.0-liter Volvo B20 inline-four was reportedly built in 2018 by Terry Tinney Performance Motors of Livermore, California and features Aviad dry-sump lubrication, an Elgin camshaft, honed intake manifold, AEM programmable fuel injection, a Ron Davis radiator, a trunk-mounted ATL fuel cell, and a Burns stainless-steel exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Quaife “Rocket” four-speed manual dog-box transmission, a carbon fiber driveshaft, floating rear axle, and a limited-slip differential. The gearbox is reportedly fitted with a Tilton 5.5” clutch, a hydraulic throw-out bearing, and an aluminum flywheel. Abrasions are present on the underside, and additional photos are provided in the gallery below.
