1983 BMW E28 5-Series

This 1983 BMW 525i is a German-market example that was imported into Canada in 2004 and acquired by the seller in 2006. Power is provided by an E46 M3-sourced 3.2L S54 inline-six paired with a six-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in Arctic Blue Metallic over a black leather interior from an E28 M5. Additional equipment includes 17″ Alpina wheels, BC Racing coilovers, front and rear spoilers, European S54 headers with a custom exhaust, multi-piston brake calipers, a Hartage shift knob, a MOMO steering wheel, and an Alpine head unit. Recent service consisted of replacing the power steering pump and performing an oil change. This E28 is now offered with service records, owner’s manuals, literature, a clean Carfax report, and Ontario registration. The body is finished in Arctic Blue Metallic (045), and equipment includes European-market bumpers, a front lip, fog lights, an E28 M5 rear spoiler, and BMW Motorsports badging. Rock chips are noted on the front lip. 17″ Alpina wheels are wrapped in 225/45 front and 255/40 rear Continental ExtremeContact DW Tuned tires. The suspension features BC Racing coilovers, Suspension Techniques sway bars, and 750i control arms. Braking is handled by a custom WP Pro six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers and cross-drilled two-piece rotors. The interior features black leather seats sourced from an E28 M5 along with a matching dash and contrasting blue carpets. Additional equipment includes power front windows, a Hartage wood shift knob and metal pedal set, and an Alpine head unit. The seller notes that the air conditioning is inoperable. An aftermarket MOMO steering wheel frames a 280-km/h speedometer, an M5-branded 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 230k kilometers (~143k miles). Total mileage is unknown. The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six was sourced from a 2005 M3 and is equipped with individual throttle bodies, custom ECU programming, and a European-spec exhaust manifold. Recent service consisted of changing the oil and replacing the power steering pump. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission also sourced from the 2005 M3 and a limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 gearing.
