2005 Porsche Carrera GT

This 2005 Porsche Carrera GT is one of 1,270 examples built during a four-year production run and was first registered in Texas. It was imported in 2012 to Canada, where was first acquired by the selling dealer in 2018. After spending approximately 18 months with a Montreal-area collector, the car was reacquired by the selling dealer in 2021 and now has 5,100 miles. It is finished in GT Silver Metallic over dark gray leather upholstery, and power comes from a 5.7-liter V10 mated to a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Features include staggered-width forged magnesium wheels, a ceramic-composite clutch and brake rotors, an electronically actuated rear spoiler, removable roof panels, air conditioning, a Porsche Online Pro CD stereo, yellow seatbelts, and a carbon-fiber shift knob and handbrake lever. This Type 980 is now offered in Montreal, Canada, with recent service records, a clean Carfax report, and Quebec registration. The Carrera GT concept car first appeared at the 2000 Paris Motor Show as an offshoot of the late-1990s LMP2000 development prototype that never came to fruition. The model entered production in 2003 with construction incorporating a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic monocoque and subframe built by ATR Group in Italy. The carbon-fiber body panels on this example are finished in GT Silver Metallic with matching removable roof panels. Aerodynamic elements include an undertray, a rear diffuser, and an electronically actuated rear spoiler that can also be deployed manually. 3M paint protection film was added under previous ownership. The forged magnesium wheels measure 19×9.5” up front and 20×12.5” at the rear and are secured by center-lock nuts that are color-coded in reference to thread direction. They are mounted with 265/35 front and 335/30 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Pushrod-activated coilover struts are mounted inboard all around, and stopping power is provided by cross-drilled 15” ceramic composite brake rotors with yellow-painted six-piston monobloc aluminum calipers at each corner. The cockpit features racing-style seats with carbon-fiber and Kevlar shells, and they are trimmed in dark gray leather upholstery that also covers the door panels. Magnesium, carbon-fiber, and aluminum trim are fitted throughout. Additional equipment includes one-touch power windows, air conditioning, powered and heated side mirrors, a Porsche Online Pro CD stereo, a carbon-fiber shift knob and handbrake lever, and yellow seatbelts and contrast stitching. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a central tachometer with an 8,400-rpm redline along with a 235-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 5,100 miles. The mid-mounted 5.7-liter V10 is liquid-cooled and features dual overhead camshafts on each cylinder bank, titanium connecting rods, dry-sump lubrication, and Bosch Motronic ME7 engine management. It produced 605 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 435 lb-ft of torque at 5,750 rpm when new. A March 2019 service performed by Automobiles Etcetera Centre de Service Center of Ville Mont-Royal, Quebec, is said to have included the installation of a new water pump, oil pump, and engine gaskets. An invoice for the work totaling $19,933 CAD can be seen in the gallery. A replacement battery was installed in July 2020, and an oil change was performed in June 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The Carfax report shows history in Texas, Ontario, and Quebec and lists no accidents or other damage. The car is registered in Quebec, which does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its registration.
