This 1971 Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider Veloce was delivered new to the US and is said to have been brought to the UK in the 1990s before being imported to Canada, where it was acquired by the seller in 2018. The car was subsequently refurbished with work that involved fitment of an Alfaholics Euro-style headlight conversion kit, a repaint in Giallo Prototipo, and an interior refresh. The 1,750cc inline-four was rebuilt with Centerline high-lift camshafts and fitted with dual Dellorto DHLA carburetors, while the suspension and brake systems were modified with the addition of an Alfaholics Fast Road Stage 1 suspension kit as well as Wilwood four-piston front calipers. Additional equipment includes 15″ Maxilite GTA-style aluminum wheels, a five-speed manual transmission, a wood-rimmed Personal steering wheel, and a black soft top. This Series 2 Spider is now offered in Canada with an Alfa Romeo Classiche Certificato Di Origine, refurbishment records, spare and removed parts, and British Columbia registration. A Euro-style headlight conversion was performed using an Alfaholics kit and the body was refinished in Giallo Prototipo (AR119) as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. The front grille, left mirror, windshield, and bumpers were replaced using parts sourced from Alfaholics, and further work included installation of replacement door handles, badges, and various door and trunk gaskets. The car features a Kamm tail as well as a black soft top and boot cover. Silver 15″ Maxilite GTA-style aluminum wheels are mounted with 205/60 Yokohama Neova tires. Various suspension and chassis components were removed, sandblasted, and powder-coated black as part of the refurbishment prior to installation of an Alfaholics Fast Road Stage 1 suspension kit featuring an S4 front anti-roll bar, Koni shocks, lowering springs, and adjustable top arms. Wilwood four-piston front calipers are paired with rebuilt calipers out back, and cross-drilled rotors and braided stainless-steel brake lines are installed at all four corners. The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl accompanied by a replacement dashboard, center console, and door panels sourced from Alfaholics. The floors have been lined with Dynamat insulation, and further work performed as part of the refurbishment included replacing the blower fan, heater control knob, horn button surround, shifter boot, headrest covers, door pulls, grab handles, and window felt as well as the rubber coverings on the accelerator, brake, and clutch pedals. A wood-rimmed Personal steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation including a tachometer and a replacement 140-mph speedometer as well as auxiliary gauges housed in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer was reset upon installation and now shows 5 miles. Total mileage is unknown. The twin-cam 1,750cc inline-four was rebuilt as part of the refurbishment including fitment of an 11.1mm-lift performance intake camshaft, a 10.5mm-lift Euro-spec exhaust camshaft, and dual Dellorto DHLA 40/45/48 carburetors. The following work was also performed: Machined the cylinder head Overhauled the timing chain and links Lapped the intake and exhaust valves Replaced the intake and exhaust valve guides and springs Re-cut the valve seats Installed Hastings piston rings Replaced the pistons and piston liners Resized the connecting rods Replaced the main and connecting rod bearings Replaced various gaskets Replaced the valve cover Replaced the battery Added Alfaholics alternator Installed red ignition wires Replaced heater core Replaced heater valve and coolant hoses Replaced radiator expansion tank Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The clutch assembly, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing were replaced and the flywheel was machined during the refurbishment. Alfaholics clutch hydraulic cylinders were also installed along with a replacement exhaust system. The Alfa Romeo Certificato di Origine shows a production date of July 9, 1971, as well as initial delivery to Newark, New Jersey. A collection of spare and removed parts is included in the sale. Photos taken at various stages of the refurbishment are presented in the gallery. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a country that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its British Columbia registration.
