This 1962 Amphicar Model 770 is finished in white over red and white upholstery and is powered by a 1,147cc Triumph inline-four mated to a two-part manual gearbox delivering four forward speeds and reverse on land along with forward and reverse to the twin propellers. Additional equipment includes red 13″ steel wheels marine navigation lights, a nautical horn, and an alternator as well as a white soft top, MotoMeter instrumentation, and a push-button AM radio. This Amphicar was acquired by the selling dealer in 2014 and is now offered in Canada with Ontario registration listing the car as a 1963 example. The body is finished in white and is said to have been repainted under prior ownership. The car features a white soft top as well as soft inserts in the side moldings and rear bumper. A fender-mounted radio antenna, a vented engine cover, a nautical horn, marine navigation lights, chrome bumpers, and a single exhaust outlet exiting through the tail panel are further details. Paint blemishes are shown in the gallery. Red 13″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 285/80 Triumph Radial 40001 whitewall tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the front luggage compartment. The front wheels serve as rudders when the car is afloat, and braking while on the ground is handled by hydraulic drums at each wheel. The cabin features a split front bench, a rear bench, and door panels trimmed in red and white vinyl. Black carpeting covers the floors, and additional features include a heater, a push-button AM radio, and door-sealing locks as well as hand-crank and vent windows. The two-spoke steering wheel frames MotoMeter instrumentation including a 90-mph speedometer, a clock, and a combination gauge with readouts for fuel level and engine temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown. The rear-mounted 1,147cc Standard Triumph SC inline-four was factory-rated at 43 horsepower and 61 lb-ft of torque. The car is equipped with a bilge pump, and the generator has been replaced with an alternator. Power is delivered to the rear wheels, the dual nylon propellers, or both through a two-part Hermes transmission with a four-speed manual gearbox for driving the wheels and an integrated two-speed gearbox with forward and reverse gears for the propellers. A tool kit and Amphicar-branded wood paddles are included in the sale. The car does not have a title, as it is being sold in a country that does not issue titles for road vehicles. It is offered with its Ontario registration, which lists the car as a 1963 model and notes that it is unplated.
