1978 GMC Jimmy (1973-1991)

This 1978 GMC Jimmy High Sierra underwent a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in 2022 and is powered by a 350ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. The truck was refinished in silver and white over a refreshed interior upholstered in red and orange plaid cloth. Features include a removable white hardtop, 15″ American Racing wheels, chrome bumpers and trim, a roof rack, a rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, front bucket seats, a center console, a heater, and a Delco push-button radio. This Jimmy was purchased by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered in Canada with Alberta registration. The truck was refinished in silver and white in 2018 and is equipped with a removable white hardtop that features sliding side windows. Other equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, a roof rack, a rear spoiler, High Sierra badges, and dual exhaust outlets. The 15″ American Racing wheels feature gray centers and are mounted with 255/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, and a spare is housed in the cargo area. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The shocks are said to have been replaced in 2020. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in red and orange plaid. Interior appointments include a power-operated rear window, a heater, a center console, and a Delco push-button radio. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-km/h speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 44k kilometers (~28k miles). True mileage is unknown. The replacement 350ci V8 was reportedly rebuilt in 2020 and fitted with aluminum cylinder heads and a Comp Cams performance camshaft. The three-speed automatic transmission is also said to have been rebuilt. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
