This 1932 Ford Model 18 V8 Cabriolet is reportedly one of fewer than 6,000 V8 Cabriolets built. The current owner purchased the car 30 years ago and commissioned a refurbishment that was completed approximately five years ago. The work included a repaint in dark green with black fenders and running boards, a refresh of the green leather interior and rumble seat, and installation of modern instrumentation. The 221ci flathead V8 is equipped with dual Stromberg 97 carburetors and paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. This Model 18 V8 is offered by the selling dealer on behalf of the current owner with a clean Oregon title. The bodywork has been refinished in dark green with black fenders and running boards, and a grey convertible top is equipped. The center-hinged hood features 25 louvers per side, placing this example late in the 1932 production run. The five green-painted spoked wheels are fitted with V8-logo hubcaps and whitewall tires, and a soft wheel cover is fitted over the rear mounted spare. The brakes have been converted from mechanical to hydraulic operation. The interior of the rumble seat is shown in the gallery below. The cabin features green leather upholstery on the seats and interior panels, with matching carpets and a contrasting black-painted dash. The car is equipped with a factory three-spoke steering wheel, and has been updated with a set of green lap belts. A photo is provided in the gallery showing the chromed hardware for the convertible top. Factory instrumentation has been replaced with a full suite of VDO gauges, including a 120-mph speedometer, a voltage gauge, fuel level gauge, water temperature gauge, and an oil pressure gauge all mounted in a machined aluminum fascia. 133 miles are shown, which is reportedly the total since completion. The 221ci flathead V8 is fitted with a custom aluminum intake manifold, and induction is handled by a pair of Stromberg 97 carburetors with an aluminum air cleaner housing. The car is equipped with a modern radiator, electric fan, and a modern distributor. A fuel pressure gauge and a temperature gauge have been added underhood. The dual exhaust system is wrapped in heat-abating tape from the headers to the rear mufflers, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed manual transmission. Additional photos of the underside are provided and show the frame, floors, and more.
