This 1935 Rolls-Royce 40/50 is a right-hand-drive Phantom II Tourer with four-door, open coachwork by Dick Brockman. The car was reportedly restored in the 1970s before being purchased by the Central Texas Museum of Automotive History, and it is said to have participated in the Great American Race a number of times during the 1980s. One of approximately 1,680 Phantom IIs built during a seven-year production run, this example is finished in yellow and black over black leather upholstery and is powered by a 7.7-liter straight-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a folding convertible top, polished-metal hood, dual windscreens, rear-mounted luggage cases, and painted wire wheels. This Phantom II is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Texas title. Four-door convertible coachwork was designed and built by Dick Brockman & Co. of Reading, England. It is finished in yellow and black and features dual cockpits equipped with individual windscreens. Additional details include a polished engine cover, folding convertible top, center driving light, rear luggage system, chrome bumpers, and side-mount spare wheels. The car wears decals from the Great American Race and Central Texas Museum of Automotive History. Black 19″ wire wheels are wrapped in a set of whitewall Lester tires sized 7.50-19. The Phantom II features a 150″ wheelbase and a Bijur centralized lubrication system. The suspension incorporates semi-elliptical leaf springs at all four corners, and braking is managed by four-wheel, servo-assisted mechanical drums.   The right-hand-drive front cabin features a bench seat upholstered in black leather, along with matching-color door panels and carpeting. Rolls-Royce-branded instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer and a clock, as well as gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The four-spoke steering wheel is equipped with throttle hand controls, and a right-hand shift lever is mounted to the floor. Under 81k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, about 500 of which have been added by the selling dealer. Rally plaques adorn the wood dash fascia, including those from the 1983 and 1984 runnings of the Great American Race. The rear seating area is also trimmed in black leather and features tufted upholstery on its seat back and padded side panels. Cracking and wear to the seating surfaces is visible in gallery photographs. The rear windscreen is equipped with adjustable wind wings. The 7,668cc OHV straight-six features a cross-flow cylinder head and is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with synchromesh on second, third, and fourth gears. The fluids were reportedly changed earlier this year. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels using an open driveshaft and a hypoid bevel final drive. Additional underbody photos are included in the gallery. Walk-around and driving videos are presented below.
