1930 Gar Wood

This 1930 Gar Wood is a 22′ runabout that features a mahogany hull with triple cockpits. The boat is said to have been owned by a family on the St. Lawrence River before being acquired by the seller from Gar Wood Custom Boats of Brant Lake, New York in 2009 and moved to Michigan. A refurbishment in 2014 included installation of a no-soak bottom, new green upholstery, a 12-volt electrical system, and overhauled instruments as well as replacement of the fuel tanks, blower, and bilge pumps. Power is from a replacement inboard-mounted Chrysler Marine M47 inline-six, and additional features include three bench seats as well as a fold-down windscreen. A new water pump impeller was installed in 2021. Triple Play is offered with a 2010 Viking dual-axle trailer, a full waterline cover, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name. The vessel measures 22′ long and features a mahogany hull and decks with chrome and polished stainless steel hardware. The 2014 refurbishment is said to have included installation of a no-soak bottom as well as application of several coats of marine varnish. Gold Gar Wood lettering and the registration number are featured on the sides, while Triple Play is emblazoned on the transom. The wood dash houses a barrel-type tachometer in addition to gauges for amperage, oil pressure, and water temperature that are said to have been rebuilt during the 2014 project. The Chrysler Marine M47 flathead inline-six features dual downdraft carburetors and was factory rated at 115 horsepower. The engine is said to have been serviced in Michigan in 2012 and has reportedly been run 50 hours since. Service during the 2014 refurbishment included installation of a 12-volt electrical system as well as replacement of the fuel tanks, blower, and bilge pumps according to the seller. A new water pump impeller was installed and an oil change performed in 2021. The boat comes with a full waterline cover in addition to the tandem-axle trailer shown above, which features carpeted bunks, full fenders with side steps, a rolling tongue jack, and a spare wheel.
