This 1929 Pierce-Arrow Model 125 features two-door Club Brougham bodywork and is said to have undergone a multi-year refurbishment under previous ownership. It was purchased by the current owner in 2022 and won a class award in the American Classics 1920-1930 category at the 2023 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance before it earned an AACA National First Prize in March of this year. The car is finished in two-tone Granite Gray and Cameron Heath with yellow pinstriping over gray cloth upholstery, and power comes from a 366ci straight-eight paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Features include a stainless steel exhaust system, chrome headlight buckets, a hood ornament, running boards, an external trunk, 19″ wood-spoke wheels, dual spare rims and tires, and rear window shades. This Pierce-Arrow is now offered with a Pierce-Arrow tool kit, a spare flat radiator cap, a canvas trunk cover, literature, car show awards, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name. Buffalo, New York-based Pierce-Arrow merged with the Studebaker Corporation in 1928. An updated lineup of straight-eight-powered models was introduced for the following model year, including the Model 125. Sales totaled nearly 10k for 1929, a record for the automaker. This example is said to have been repainted in its factory Granite Gray and Cameron Heath with yellow pinstriping under previous ownership. Features include chrome bumpers and trim as well as an archer hood ornament, a vented centrally hinged hood, parking lamps, running boards, an external trunk, and a taillight cluster. The car was optioned from the factory with individual chrome headlight buckets according to the seller, and Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and AACA National First Prize plaques are affixed to the headlight bar. A flat radiator cap is included in the sale. The wood-spoke wheels are finished in green with yellow pinstriping, and they feature chrome Pierce-Arrow hubcaps and black steel rims. Lester bias-ply wide-whitewall tires measuring 6.50–19 are mounted at all four corners, and a pair of matching steel rims and tires are fitted out back. The Model 125 rode on a 133″ wheelbase and features front and rear semi-elliptical leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel mechanical drums. The cabin features front seats and a rear bench trimmed in gray tufted cloth along with a color-coordinated headliner, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes wood window trim, B-pillar-mounted flower vases, a rear passenger cigar lighter and ashtrays, and rear window shades. The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a painted steel dash housing a Waltham barrel-type speedometer, clock, and gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows under 2k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The 366ci L-head straight-eight features a Stromberg UU-2 carburetor, chrome Pierce-Arrow-branded valve covers, a dual-coil ignition system, and a cold air intake. Output was factory rated at 125 horsepower. The car is titled by its engine number, A1730, which can be seen in the gallery. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission. The fuel pump is said to have been rebuilt in September 2022, and a stainless steel exhaust system is fitted. A replacement muffler was reportedly installed in 2023. A canvas tool roll with Pierce-Arrow-branded tools is included in the sale. Awards from the 2023 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and 2023 AACA Central Spring Nationals can be seen in the gallery.
