This 1989 Freightliner Unimog High Mobility Material Handler (HMMH) is a former US military vehicle that was overhauled in 2010 and acquired by the seller in 2015. The truck is finished in olive drab over black vinyl upholstery and features a hydraulic front-end fork lift as well as a rear-mounted articulating crane. Power is provided by a 5.7L Mercedes-Benz diesel inline-six mated to a dual-range four-speed manual gearbox with a splitter, delivering a total of sixteen forward and eight reverse gears. Additional equipment includes portal axles with locking differentials, air-over-hydraulic disc brakes,  20″ steel wheels, and a storage locker. This Unimog FLU10344 is now offered in Colorado with a bill of sale. The Unimog FLU10344 was classified as a High Mobility Material Handler and was utilized by the US Army. This example is finished in olive drab paint and equipped with a hydraulically operated and detachable front-end fork lift as well as a rear-mounted articulating crane. Duplicate controls are located on either side of the crane, while the forklift is operated from the left seat. Additional equipment includes hydraulic hoses with a reel for operating hydraulic tools along with a roof guard, work lights, and a storage locker. The rotating fork lift valve sticks, per the seller. Body-color 20” steel wheels are mounted with 12.5″ Michelin X tires. The truck is equipped with power steering as well as lockout cylinders to retract the front suspension for forklift and crane operations. Stopping power is provided by air-over-hydraulic disc brakes with a load-sensing valve system. The steel cab features low-back seats upholstered in black vinyl, as well as controls for the gearbox and accessories. Additional appointments include a heater, quarter vent windows, lap belts, and passenger-side grab handles. Replacement VDO instrumentation consists of a 80-mph speedometer, a voltmeter, and a combination gauge. An analog inclinometer is mounted atop the dash. The six-digit odometer shows 19 miles, which is said to reflect the distance traveled since the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown, and the engine hour-meter reads 48 hours. The 5.7-liter Mercedes-Benz OM352 diesel inline-six is mated to a dual-range four-speed manual gearbox with a splitter, providing sixteen forward gears and eight reverse gears. Maintenance performed under current ownership is said to have included replacing the filters and hydraulic fluids. The hydraulic hoses show wear and checking, and the seller notes leaks at the hydraulic fittings and cylinders. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through portal axles with locking differentials. Additional underside images are presented in the gallery below. The data tag shown above indicates that the vehicle was overhauled in 2010 at the Red River Army Depot in Texas. The truck does not have a title, as it is being sold in a state that does not issue titles for surplus military vehicles. It is offered on a bill of sale.
