This 1991 AM General M998 High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) was utilized by the US military before it was acquired in 2017 by the current owner, who subsequently commissioned a cosmetic and mechanical overhaul of the truck that totaled approximately $44,000. Work completed in 2018 and 2019 involved coating the body in a matte black spray-on bedliner material, rebuilding the wheel hubs, overhauling the suspension system, and installing a hard top, a brush guard, a rear rack, a snorkel air intake, LED exterior lighting, four doors, and 17″ Mayhem wheels mounted with 37″ Ironman tires. Power is provided by a 6.2-liter diesel V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and the truck’s interior has been outfitted with four Braum bucket seats upholstered in black leather, a Pioneer head unit, aftermarket speakers, and air conditioning. This M998 HMMWV is now offered on dealer consignment with records of the build and a clean Georgia title. As part of the aforementioned 2018 build, the truck was fitted with a hardtop, a brush guard, a rear rack, and four replacement Hard X doors before the body was coated in a matte black spray-on bedliner material. Lighting is provided by a pair of J.W. Speaker headlights in addition to LED marker lights, indicator lights, and taillights. Additional details include dual side mirrors, front and rear recovery hooks, and a pintle hitch. The windshield wiper motors were replaced in 2019. Paint is missing from the door handles. The black-finished Mayhem 17″ alloy wheels feature silver accents and are mounted with 37×12.5″ Ironman All Country M/T tires. A full-size spare is located in the cargo area, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel inboard disc brakes. As part of the build, the wheel hubs were rebuilt and the upper ball joints, springs, shocks, and tie rods were replaced by Black Dog Customs of Madison, Georgia. In 2018, the interior was outfitted with four Braum bucket seats upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated carpeting and a Pioneer head unit connected to aftermarket speakers. Additional amenities include 12-volt accessory outlets, a rearview camera, all-weather floor mats, cupholders, crank-operated windows, and climate control. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts replacement instrumentation including an 80-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer has been replaced and now shows 3,200 miles. True mileage is unknown. The clamshell hood opens to reveal the naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter diesel V8 that is equipped with an electronic cooling fan and a snorkel air intake. An air conditioning system was installed in 2018, and additional work under current ownership has included repairing the electrical system, changing the fluids, and replacing various hoses. Power is delivered to all four wheels via a four-speed 4L80E automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. All four half-shafts and a transfer case seal were replaced in 2018 and the transmission shift linkage was repaired in 2019. The truck is titled by its six-digit serial number 113059 shown above, which aligns with a HMMWV produced in 1991.
