This 1936 Twin Coach is said to have been part of a fleet of stand-and-drive delivery trucks manufactured by Twin Coach of Kent, Ohio, for Helms Bakery, which serviced the Los Angeles, California, area. Work performed under prior ownership is said to have involved installing a Nissan 2.0-liter inline-four and a three-speed automatic transmission, re-coring the radiator, servicing the brakes, replacing the cabinets and fuel tank, and converting the electrical system to 12 volts. The truck is finished in yellow and blue with a brown vinyl driver’s seat, and features include 18″ spoked steel wheels, sliding side doors, and glass-front drawers. The truck was acquired by the seller in 2022, and subsequent work involved repainting the interior. This Twin Coach is now offered with service records, a front hub tool, memorabilia, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name. The truck is finished in yellow with blue accents, and features include bright trim, wraparound front windows, sliding side doors, dual mirrors, and hinged rear doors. Rust is present on the bumpers, and areas of the paint are peeling. Blue 18″ six-spoke steel wheels are wrapped in S.T.A. Super Transport tires that were installed in 2014. Braking is handled by four-wheel hydraulic drums that are said to have been serviced under prior ownership. The truck rides on solid axles and leaf springs at the front and rear. The operator’s station features an extended-height driver’s seat mounted on a pivoting stand, an accelerator pedal on the center console, and a brake pedal on the left. An aftermarket automatic transmission shifter is centrally mounted. Instrumentation consists of a Stewart Warner 100-mph speedometer as well as gauges for vacuum, voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, a handful of which were added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown. The cabin was repainted under current ownership and features body-color sheet metal, diamond-pattern floor mats, hinged vent windows, and an overhead arm that activates an external whistle. The glass-front drawers were reportedly replaced under prior ownership and are equipped with a central locking mechanism that can be engaged for travel. A second bank of drawers is accessible via the rear doors. The Nissan L20B 2.0-liter inline-four was installed under prior ownership and sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The fuel tank is said to have been replaced, and work performed prior to the seller’s acquisition involved re-coring the radiator and converting the electrical system to 12 volts. The fan clutch is noisy, and the seller notes a transmission leak. Additional underside photos can be viewed in the gallery below.
