$15,000
Year: 1953

This 1953 Fageol delivery van was reportedly used as a moving van before being displayed at the Golden Age of Trucking Museum in Middlebury, Connecticut. Following the current owner’s acquisition in 2011, replacement graphics were applied and the truck was subsequently used in promotional exhibits for Charles P. Rogers & Company. It is built on an International Harvester R-series chassis and powered by a gasoline-fueled inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in yellow over black vinyl upholstery, it features 20″ steel wheels, a dually rear axle, a cargo compartment, a curb-side cargo door, and rear barn doors. This Fageol van is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner in Florida with New York registration. The truck is finished in yellow with green lower bodywork, a silver roof, and Charles P. Rogers & Company graphics that were applied under current ownership. Details include a black front bumper, a silver grille, two windshield panels, towing mirrors, turn signals, and clearance lights. Rust is noted on the cab steps, and the left headlight surround has damaged trim and peeling paint. Black 20″ six-spoke steel wheels are mounted with 8.25-20 YKS tires, and braking is handled by hydraulic drums all around. The truck rides on solid axles and leaf springs at the front and rear. The driver’s seat and passenger bench are upholstered in black vinyl and complemented by a color-coordinated engine housing, door panels, and body-color sheet metal. Features include a woodgrain headliner, roll-up windows in the doors, fixed side windows, a handbrake, and a passenger grab handle. The window in the driver’s door is cracked. The three spoke steering wheel is fitted with an International-branded horn button and sits ahead of an 80-mph speedometer, a 4k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. An aftermarket ammeter and voltage gauge are mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles and is said to have rolled over. Approximately 600 miles were added under current ownership, and total mileage is unknown. The cargo compartment can be accessed via the rear barn doors and is outfitted with wood block flooring, wood side rails, overhead track lighting, a curb-side cargo door, and residential-style power outlets. The gasoline-fueled inline-six is located beneath a hinged doghouse cover between the front seats and is equipped with a Delco-Remy distributor. The battery was replaced in January 2024. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dually rear axle. The van does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for vehicles of its age. It is being sold on its New York registration, which expired in March 2021 and uses engine casting 116415HB as the VIN. The seller is unable to locate a chassis number on the van.
