1967 Lincoln Continental Pitcairn Blue Convertible

 

Award winning convertible, 462 7.6L V8 with 111,249 original miles. The last year of production for the “suicide” door convertible, only 2,276 were produced new, making it the lowest number of 60s convertibles made. lent condition. New white top, hydraulic new hydraulic lines, new hydraulic convertible top pump, new trunk lift jacks, new weatherstripping, all new tires (5), all relays tested and replaced as needed, new water pump, new tolite NOS spark plugs, new correct tolite spark plug wires, new tolite NOS distributor cap, new tolite NOS points, rotor and condenser, new timing gear set and chain, (original chain and nylon gear still like new but replaced for reliability), new correct hoses, new battery with correct “ tolite” retro battery top, and decals as new, new properly restored and stamped high output (100+ amps) alternator. built, original carburetor, with correct identification tag, new radiator overflow surge tank with correct radiator cap, new 195° thermostat as original, new belts, new right side exhaust manifold, new exhaust steel heat shields and gaskets, correctly color matched “Corporate Blue” engine refinishing, correct “custom-made” original engine decals as new, recurved, correct distributor with custom “correct” hardlined steel vacuum tube and vacuum advanced diaphragm as original, rebuild power steering pump, NOS motor mounts and transmission mounts, new steering column shifter, bushings, new heavy duty radiator with 50% more capacity, new thermal clutch, custom designed high performance/low amp draw dual electric cooling fans functioning in automatic and manually controlled special function, restored bucket system with all NOS bulb mounts, new factory correct “FoMoCo” halogen headlamps, new brake rotors and pads, new drums and shoes, new calipers, new master cylinder, all new stainless steel brake lines, new brake hoses, new rear wheel cylinders, new stainless dual fuel lines and hoses, newly restored “thermostatically controlled” Carter fuel pump with factory correct tolite fuel filter, hidden electric fuel pump “as a safety backup in the event of vapor lock” properly restored hood main latch assembly and safety catch, fully restored “correct“ bumper jack, properly restored air cleaner and choke cold start preheat system, correct cut pile color matched new carpet, correct original floor mats. Completely removed, disassembled, repaired, and correctly restored, dash assembly (original dash pad has very small crack radiating out from speaker area), heating and air conditioning system removed, disassembled completely, cleaned, and repaired as original, resealed all new vacuum door surfaces and insulated box inside, replaced all non-functioning vacuum motors and reinstalled, replaced high output, heat/air blower, removed, restored, outer heater core and box assembly, and recalibrated original automatic, temperature control brain box, replaced air conditioning line valves with NOS as original, replaced air conditioning compressor with new unit, replaced all under hood vacuum hoses as original and vacuum tested for leaks, replaced entire vacuum door lock control system, restored original clock with highly accurate quartz movement, resto-modded, original AM/FM, Town & Country stereo system with custom digital high-performance system, hidden internally for originality, replaced power antenna, replaced speakers, restored all four cigar lighters with new old stock lighter element assemblies, replaced all four woodgrain armrest panels with best available,  placed armrest boxes with new as needed and installed steel reinforcement brackets within, replaced window motor and gear assemblies as needed, replaced window switches as needed, restored center steering wheel, horn cushion, replaced horns as original (triple tone units), properly restored color correct seat belts with additional center occupant belts, front and rear, replaced retractors as needed and replaced seatbelt warning system, replaced one of four mufflers as needed, (system was replaced not too long ago), all glass including tinted windshield in excellent condition, replaced drivers outside mirror with new NOS unit, replaced all park/turn signal system with custom designed “plug and play” sequential LED system, NOS front park lamp lenses, NOS turn signal switch, restored tail lamps with new old stock lenses and chrome bezels, replaced new old stock rear bumperettes,  installed period correct chrome license plate frames and assemblies, replaced “1967“ hood star,  restored and replaced original “ “ scripts and letters , new old stock NOS ignition/trunk key sets as original, 1967 NOS leather key case, all trunk gray wool lining and jack flap and spare tire cover in excellent condition, like new. Car underwent full body strip and paint restoration with correct “ Blue” two stage color/clearcoat finish prior to my purchase, most restoration performed at ker’s to in Connecticut and other professional shops with all detailed records. Right rear wheel well has a slight blister and a small crack in the paint at the base of the “dogleg” section; see detail pics. Upon purchase, I removed the intake manifold, pan, water pump, timing gear and chain, oil pan, power steering pump and reservoir, inspected and photographed and refinished all as original, including asbestos insulator foil valley pan insulator pad as original. ne looked brand new inside with no buildup or even discoloration on the cast iron, and identical, pristine cooling system surfaces within, engine runs like new with incredible power. smission fully serviced, and shifts as new.  Compound driveshaft removed, all new three joints replaced and pressed, driveshaft restored and balanced, axles pulled and all new bearings and seals installed and replaced. Disassembled doors doors, – etc. car now drives completely rattle free and smooth as glass. talled 1968 III optional wheel covers, but all four original “correct” 1967 wheel covers are retained, all original paperwork, shop manuals, owners manuals, sales brochure, accessories booklet, build sheet, authenticity book, original inspection booklet, are included window sticker is also included as is “1st place“ plaque awarded for authenticity in “touring class“ from and , Coast, meet in 2022. Additional award from the this year’s Casual urs benefit show also included.  All paperwork included, also inspectors report from private car collector company during purchasing. Everything works as far as I can think of. h auto-drop rear windows function as designed but on rare occasions drivers side retracts fully when opening, and returns fully when door closes. This generally occurs after car wash but clears up eventually. k brake has always had an issue holding the car on steep hills in neutral but all of this is complete as mechanism is new;  never figured it out. Car is extremely solid and quiet, power bench seat was removed and serviced and functions on all axis as designed. ther seating is original with some minimal cracking, with drivers side back bolster being the worst. Seats are generally in good original condition and all surfaces have been carefully cleaned, and Lexol leather conditioner applied weekly to extend their life. Tops of rear seats show the typical “sunburn” where the leather on the tops are stiffer than the other surfaces. All door panels look great and handle grips have been replaced as original. htray bumpers, internal lights, have all been replaced and new hidden actual temperature gauge resides in pop out front cigar ashtray for actual temperature viewing.
