1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL 4-Speed W113 SL

This 1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and has been repainted red over tan upholstery. This W113 SL was acquired by the seller in 2018 and is now offered at no reserve with a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name. The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq and was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. Said to have been originally finished in beige, this example was repainted red some time ago and features a beige soft top. There is a dent on the right front fender around the headlight. The 14″ steel wheels feature polished trim rings and body-color hubcaps, and they are mounted with 195/75 Michelin Radial tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The seller notes a slow leak from the right front tire. The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in tan MB-tex that extends to the door panels. Interior appointments include a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, an analog clock, a floor-mounted gear shifter, and a heater. A hole is present on the side of the driver’s seat. The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership. The 2.3-liter M127 inline-six was factory equipped with Bosch fuel injection.
