This 1955 Chevrolet Corvette is the 43rd of 700 examples produced for the model year and is finished in blue over beige vinyl upholstery. The car is powered by a 265ci V8 linked with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, and features include 15” red-finished steel wheels with faux knock-off spinners as well as a tan soft top, a curved windshield, wire mesh headlight guards, a cabin heater, a windshield washer system, and directional signals. The car spent time in Canada prior to being imported to the US by a raffle winner in 2010, and it was acquired by the selling dealer in April 2023. This C1 Corvette is now offered with a cockpit tonneau cover, an aftermarket hardtop, removable side windows, and a clean Florida title. The fiberglass body is finished in blue and is said to have been repainted under prior ownership. Details include a tan convertible soft top, a curved windshield, a windshield washer system, removable side windows, wire mesh headlight guards, dual exhaust tips exiting through the rear bodywork, and a chrome grille, a three-piece rear bumper, and trim, and Chevrolet fender badging with a gold ‘V’ to denote the 265ci V8. Paint blemishes are shown in the video gallery. Red 15″ steel wheels wear chrome spinner covers and are mounted with 6.70-15 Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires. The C1 was equipped from the factory with an independent front suspension, front and rear hydraulic shocks, and a live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. The cockpit features bucket seats upholstered in beige vinyl with pleated inserts. Equipment includes a heater, a floor-mounted shifter, an analog clock, directional signals, and polished door sills. The radio does not work. The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 140-mph speedometer. Additional instrumentation consists of a 5k-rpm tachometer flanked by gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 27k miles, approximately 50 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown. The 265ci V8 breathes through a four-barrel carburetor and features a polished ignition cover, air cleaner lid, and Chevrolet-script valve covers. The fuel pump is said to have been replaced and the oil changed recently. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. An aftermarket dual exhaust system has been installed. A body-color aftermarket hardtop, a cockpit tonneau cover, removable side windows, and an operator’s manual are included in the sale. The hardtop roof does not have a rear window and is missing hardware according to the seller. Filed under: c1
