This 1937 Packard Super Eight Coupe coupe is finished in Regatta Blue over a light gray fabric interior and powered by a 320ci straight-eight paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. The car reportedly underwent a repaint, engine rebuild, and other work by Glenn Vaughn Restoration of Idaho in the early 2000s under previous ownership, and was acquired for the collection of its current owner approximately 10 years ago. This Super Eight is offered by the seller on consignment in Neptune, New Jersey with over 200 photos documenting the 2000s work and current condition as well as a clean Maryland title in the owner’s name. The 2000s work included a repaint in Regatta Blue, with the current condition of the finish captured in detail by over 100 photos in the gallery below. Notable exterior accessories include Trippe safety lights, dual side-mounted spare tires with full metal covers, a rumble seat, and a chromed fold-down luggage rack. A detailed tour of the car is featured in the video above. Body-colored steel wheels feature decorative trim rings and hub caps, and wear period-style BFGoodrich wide whitewall tires. Small exterior doors are provided for access to the rear storage compartment. The interior was refreshed with gray fabric upholstery on the seats and door panels accompanied by matching carpets and headliner material. Standard features included manually-adjustable seats and front storage compartments for the driver and passenger. The factory radio is currently inoperative according to the seller. A large wood-rimmed banjo steering wheel fronts a centrally-mounted instrument cluster providing readings for speed, fuel, amperage, temperature, and time. The 5-digit odometer was reset at the time of restoration and shows just 700 miles. Employing a separated aluminum crankcase and block, the 320ci straight-eight features a two-barrel downdraft carburetos and sends power the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 3-speed manual transmission. The engine and gearbox are said to have been rebuilt as part of the 2000s work. Numerous photos are included in the gallery to highlight the condition of the underbody surfaces and mechanical components. A test drive can be viewed in the video above. Photo documentation is provided to show the 2000s work, while receipts are reportedly limited to those from current ownership.
