This 1937 Chrysler Airflow Eight is one of just 4,600 built in two body styles for the final year of production. This sedan is powered by a 299ci straight-eight paired with a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and was reportedly refurbished in Santa Rosa Sand with a gray cloth interior under past ownership. This Airflow is offered by the selling dealer with a clean California title. The Airflow design was tested in a wind tunnel and featured streamlined bodywork in one of two styles for 1937. This 4-door sedan was repainted in Santa Rosa Sand, reportedly its original color, during a refurbishment said to have occurred 2,000 miles ago under previous ownership. Steel wheels with full-face chrome covers are wrapped in period-style Firestone whitewall tires. Wheel skirts are present on the rear fenders. A walk-around video has been provided by the selling dealer. Grey cloth upholstery covers the seats, and matching carpets protect the floor. The woodgrain dash sits behind a 3-spoke banjo steering wheel and houses a radio along with square combination gauges including a tachometer, speedometer, clock, and 5-digit odometer showing 59k miles. The rear seat is covered in matching upholstery and features a grab handle and a fold-down center armrest. The 299ci straight-eight was rated at 122 horsepower for 1937 and is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission featuring overdrive and a floor shifter. The battery is a recent replacement according to the selling dealer. Additional undercarriage photos are provided in the gallery below.
