This 1936 Ford Model 68 Deluxe Tudor sedan is a modified example that features a black-painted steel body and was acquired approximately six years ago by the seller. Power comes from a 350ci Chevrolet V8 paired with a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission and a Ford Positraction differential, and additional features include a beige fabric interior, a Heidts Mustang II independent front suspension, Vintage Air A/C system, Pioneer CD stereo, rack-and-pinion steering, front disc brakes, and polished aftermarket wheels. This modified Model 68 Tudor is now being offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name. The “slantback” steel body is finished in black with red and white pinstripes and was reportedly repainted by Dan Laughlin of Andserson, California some time during previous ownership. Features include a rear spare tire carrier, V8 badging, dual side-view mirrors, and chrome bumpers and trim. Polished Halibrand-style aftermarket wheels with faux knock-off spinners measure 14” up front and 15” out back and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires sized 195/70 and 255/70 respectively. Braking is through front discs with rear drums, and the car rides on Heidts Mustang II independent front suspension with rack-and-pinion steering and TCI rear springs and mounting points. The cabin was reportedly reupholstered in beige fabric sourced from LeBaron Bonney with matching door panels, carpets, and floor mats by Jerry’s Upholstery of Medford, Oregon. Amenities include a Vintage Air A/C system and a hidden Pioneer CD stereo wired to speakers in the kick panels. A gray two-spoke steering wheel with a polished V8-branded center crest sits ahead of a metal dashboard finished in matte gray and housing a suite of Dolphin instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a central 8k-rpm tachometer, and a combination display for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows just over 3k miles, around 800 of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 350ci Chevrolet V8 is said to have been built by Arizona Speed and Marine of Chandler, Arizona and features an Edelbrock high-rise intake manifold topped by a Holley carburetor, as well as a Walker radiator and polished air cleaner and valve covers. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission with a 2,200-rpm stall converter and a Ford 9” rear axle housing a Positraction differential with 3.25:1 gearing.
