This 1934 Ford Model 40 cabriolet is powered by a 221ci Flathead V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission and is finished in burgundy over brown leather upholstery. Equipment includes a tan convertible soft top, 17″ wire-spoke wheels, whitewall tires, drum brakes, an electric fuel pump, a greyhound hood ornament, cowl lights, a rumble seat, wood trim, and bench seating. This Model 40 was purchased by the current owner in 2017 and is now offered by the seller with a clean Massachusetts title in the name of the owner’s company. The cabriolet bodywork is finished in burgundy and features a tan convertible soft top, dual horns, a greyhound hood ornament, pinstripes, cowl lights, a vacuum-operated windshield wiper, a fold-away rumble seat, and dual taillights. The left horn does not work, and paint chips in the hood and a dent in the left door are shown in photos below. Red-finished 17″ wire-spoke wheels wear chrome hub caps and are mounted with Lester whitewall tires measuring 5.25/5.50-17. A spare tire is mounted on the back, and braking is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. The cabin features bench seating upholstered in brown leather that extends to the door panels and rumble seat. Interior appointments include wood trim, a glovebox, and a rearview mirror with an inset analog clock. The steering wheel sits ahead of a 90-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 2k miles, and the Massachusetts title shows an odometer reading of 35,685 from November 2020. Total mileage is unknown. The 221ci Flathead V8 was factory rated at 85 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. An electric fuel pump has been fitted, and service in May 2016 reportedly included replacing the starter switch and spark plugs as well as performing an oil change. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. The seller notes corrosion on the undercarriage, and additional underside photos are provided below. The Massachusetts title lists a VIN 76012818 that corresponds with the number on the tag affixed to the firewall. A photo of the frame stamp is included in the gallery below.
