1940 Ford Pickup 5-Speed 4×4 1940-1947

This 1940 Ford Pickup was acquired by the seller in 1988 as a project and was subsequently refurbished and modified. Work included mounting the bed and cab on a Toyota 4×4 truck frame, reshaping the fenders, repainting the body, replacing the glass, suspension, and brake components, re-trimming the interior, re-wiring the truck, and installing an Apitong wood bed floor, a 1949-style rear window, and a turbocharged Toyota 3B 3.4L diesel inline-four linked with an H55F five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck is finished in Clearwater Blue over gray leather upholstery and features power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, blue 15″ artillery-style wheels, Bilstein shock absorbers, Dolphin instrumentation, an aluminum radiator, a Denco turbocharger, and a stainless steel exhaust system. This modified Ford pickup is now offered with build records, wiring diagrams, and a California title in the seller’s name listing it as a Specially Constructed Vehicle with no model year. Under current ownership, the fenders were reshaped, a 1949-style rear window was fitted, the cab and bed were repainted in Clearwater Blue, and replacement glass and an Apitong wood bed floor were installed. Details include a two-piece windshield, bedliner-coated running boards, chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, Marmon Herrington badges, and a Specialty Power Windows electric wiper motor kit. A stainless steel exhaust system with a single muffler has been installed. The California BAR sticker shown above indicates SB100 status and describes the vehicle as a 2023 Specially Constructed Pickup. The sticker describes the engine as a 1960 Toyota 3.40L. The California title displays the VIN CA1189910, which matches the VIN tag on the BAR sticker and refers to the truck as a specially constructed vehicle with no model year.
