This 1965 Sunbeam Tiger reportedly was sold new in Los Angeles, California, and was imported to Canada from Nevada in 2007. The car was refurbished in 2019, and it was listed on BaT in July 2020, after which the seller purchased the vehicle. The seats were subsequently retrimmed in black leather and the seat foam was replaced, and other work involved replacing the wiring harness, voltage regulator, battery, suspension bushings, front wheel bearings, and rear tires as well as rebuilding the front brake calipers and the generator and installing traction bars, a flexible radiator fan, and LED light bulbs. Finished in white, the car is powered by a 260ci Ford V8 that is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Other equipment includes a black hardtop, a black convertible top, Panasport 15″ wheels, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, PerTronix electronic ignition, an aftermarket exhaust system, and a Moto-Lita steering wheel. This Tiger is now offered in Canada with a certificate of authenticity from the Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association, an owner’s manual, service records dating back to 2007, spare parts, a tonneau cover, and British Columbia registration in the seller’s name. The car was delivered new in Carnival Red (39), and the color reportedly was changed to Polar White around 1990. In 2019 the exterior was stripped, the glass and interior were removed, the car was refinished, and the brightwork was refreshed. Features include a black removable hardtop, a black convertible top, and a matching tonneau cover as well as dual side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers and trim. Light bulbs were updated to LEDs under current ownership. Silver-colored Panasport 15″ wheels are mounted with 195/50 Westlake Zuper Ace front tires and 205/65 Westlake Radial RP18 rear rubber. The rear tires were replaced in mid-2022, and two wheel-center caps were replaced in 2023. Other work performed under current ownership included replacing the suspension bushings and front wheel bearings, installing Traction Master traction bars, and rebuilding the front brake calipers and replacing the driver-side rear wheel cylinder. The car has a dual-reservoir master cylinder for the braking system. The seats were retrimmed in black leather and the seat foam was replaced in early 2023. The black carpeting is protected by Coco mats, and a fire extinguisher is mounted in the passenger-side footwell. Other appointments include a center console, a passenger-side glove compartment, seat belts, and an ashtray. The turn-signal switch was repaired under current ownership. The heater control on the dashboard does not work and has been superseded by a manual valve in the engine bay. A wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel sits ahead of a dashboard with a black cover and burl wood veneer trim. Instrumentation includes a 5,500-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and gauges monitoring voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 87k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller. The speedometer cable was replaced in May 2024. The 260ci Ford V8 features finned Tiger valve covers, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and PerTronix electronic ignition. The car was rewired using a harness from Rebel Wire in mid-2023, the fuse panel was updated with a higher-capacity component, and the generator was rebuilt and the voltage regulator and the battery were replaced. A custom flex fan also was installed under current ownership, and radiator hoses, spark-plug wires, and the ignition rotor were replaced. Power is directed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Stainless-steel exhaust piping is installed aft of the aftermarket mufflers. The Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association Certificate of Authenticity was issued in July 2008 and lists the factory color code, engine number, JAL number, and chassis serial number. The vehicle does not have a title and is being sold on its British Columbia registration, which serves as the ownership document in British Columbia, Canada. That paperwork omits the LRXFE suffix from the vehicle’s chassis number.
