This 1976 Porsche 912E was acquired by the seller on BaT in July 2019 and has since been fitted with a Raby’s Aircooled Technology-built 2,563cc flat-four equipped with dual Dellorto carburetors, an oil cooler, and a Tangerine Racing exhaust system. The five-speed manual transaxle was rebuilt and fitted with a WEVO shifter, and additional work included installing an Eberspacher gas heater, Elephant Racing suspension components, Bilstein shocks, Turbo tie rods, LED headlights, driving lights, bullet-style side mirrors, 16″ Fuchs-style wheels, and a Rennline roof rack. The interior is trimmed in Cork leatherette and has been fitted with RS-style door panels, backdated dash trim, a MOMO steering wheel, replacement carpeting, and Rennline pedals. This 912E is now offered in Canada with build records and Ontario registration in the seller’s name. After the Porsche 914 was discontinued, the 912E was offered for the 1976 model year only as a lower-priced alternative to the 911, and approximately 2,100 were produced. This example was finished from the factory in Light Yellow and was repainted in 2007. The rocker moldings and covers have been removed, and a Rennline roof rack, Cibie driving lights with black covers, and Flat6 LED headlights were installed under current ownership. Additional alterations include aluminum bullet-style side mirrors, black headlight trim rings, Pegasus and Heuer decals, and custom badging. The removed factory badging and rocker moldings and covers are included in the sale. The seller notes previously repaired chips on the windshield along with cracks on the paint inside the decklid and on the lower valance. Finish flaws are highlighted in the gallery. The 16×6″ Maxilite Fuchs-style wheels are powder-coated matte black and mounted with 205/55 Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ tires. A space-saver spare is stored in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners. An overhaul of the brakes under current ownership involved replacing the dual master cylinder along with the brake pads and lines. Additional work involved the installation of Bilstein B8 shocks and Turbo tie rods, a 22mm hollow front torsion bar, and a 28mm rear solid torsion bar along with Elephant Racing de-cambered ball joints, chassis reinforcements, through-body RSR-style sway bars, QuickChange rear spring plates, and bushings. Cork Leatherette upholstery covers the front bucket seats and folding rear seats, and black RS-style door panels with yellow pulls have been installed along with black replacement carpets. An Eberspacher Airtronics S2 gas heater is housed in the smuggler’s box, which is protected with a Rennline cover. The dash features a Rennline backdated basketweave insert, and additional appointments include a WEVO shifter, custom luggage belts, a fire extinguisher, an Espar HVAC controller, and Rennline HVAC dash controls, knobs, floorboards, and pedals. The MOMO three-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation that consists of a centrally mounted tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and oil temperature. An oil pressure gauge is fitted below the dash. The six-digit odometer shows 169k miles, approximately 9k of which were added under current ownership. The 2,563cc Type 4 flat-four was built by Raby’s Aircooled Technology and installed in 2020. The engine features dual Dellorto carburetors, a 123ignition electronic distributor and ignition module, a PE performance wideband 02 controller, a Revolution Electronics fuel pump controller, and a Setrab oil cooler. A Tangerine Racing exhaust system was also installed. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 923 five-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt and fitted with replacement synchros during the build. A replacement clutch and pressure plate were installed and the clutch fork was re-welded. The vehicle does not have a title and is being sold on its Ontario registration, which serves as the ownership document in Ontario, Canada. Filed under: 912, 912 e, impact bumper, impact-bumper
