This 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo was initially sold in the US, moved to Canada in 2004, and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024. Now showing 69k miles, the car is finished in Guards Red over black leather and is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, 16″ phone dial wheels, pop-up headlights, a power sunroof, power-adjustable front sport seats, air conditioning, an alarm system, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The timing belt was replaced in 2019 and work in 2023 consisted of replacing various engine sensors, fueling components, and engine mounts. This 944 Turbo is offered by the selling dealer with a removed factory steering wheel, a sunroof storage bag, an owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a British Columbia registration. The car is finished in Guards Red (LM3A) and features a tilting sunroof with a removable panel as well as pop-up headlights, fog lights, power-adjustable side mirrors, a rear window wiper, and a rear spoiler. Paintwork is said to have been performed on the rear license plate area in 2017 and a new mounting bracket was installed. Silver-finished 16″ phone dial alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The front sway bar bushings were replaced in 2023. The power-adjustable front sport seats and folding rear seats are upholstered in black leather. Appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, an alarm system, power windows, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The leather-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,400-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, turbo boost pressure, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 69k miles. The turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. The timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and balance shaft belts were replaced in 2019 at ~65k miles. The air conditioning system has been converted to R134a refrigerant, and work since 2023 included replacing the DME temperature sensor, O2 sensor, crankshaft position sensor, cycle timing valve, heater control valve, heater hoses, fuel pressure damper, fuel pressure regulator, and engine mounts. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Weeping is noted from the left axle seal. Decoding the options sticker reveals the following information: CO2 – Version for US I41 – Internal production code 158 – Cassette radio Blaupunkt Monterey SQR 23 220 – Locking differential 40% 341 – Central locking system 533 – Alarm 650 – Detachable roof panel, electrically openable 983 – Leather seats An owner’s manual, service records, a factory steering wheel, and a sunroof storage bag accompany the car. The Carfax report is free of accidents and other damage and lists history in Washington as well as British Columbia and Alberta, Canada from the initial entry in May 1990. The car does not have a title as it is registered in a province that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its transferrable British Columbia registration. Filed under: 951
