This 1927 Pierce-Arrow is a Series 80 rumble-seat roadster that was purchased by the seller in 2002. The car is finished in red with darker fenders over black tufted upholstery, and power comes from a 288ci inline-six paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Features include running boards with step plates, a rear-mounted spare rim and tire, a golf bag door, a black soft top, an archer hood ornament, and headlights integrated into the fenders. Modifications include a Carter carburetor and a Stewart-Warner water temperature gauge. This Pierce-Arrow is now offered with an operator’s handbook, copies of period literature, a black canvas top cover, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name. Series 80 models utilized aluminum bodywork over an ash wood frame. The body on this example is finished in red with darker fenders and features black tubular bumpers, a rear light cluster, running boards with Pierce-Arrow-branded step plates, a passenger-side golf bag door, glass wind wings, a tilting windshield, a polished radiator with an archer hood ornament, and headlights integrated into the fenders. The rumble seat cover was repainted under the seller’s ownership, and a replacement black soft top was installed in 2015. The 19″ wheels feature red-painted rims, wood spokes, and Pierce-Arrow hubcaps, and they are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown bias-ply tires. A black-painted spare rim with a Goodrich tire is mounted out back. The Series 80 rode on a 130″ wheelbase and features semi-elliptical leaf springs at all four corners. Stopping power is provided by mechanical drum brakes at all four corners. The cabin features a bench trimmed in black tufted upholstery along with matching door panels. Equipment includes a passenger-side map pocket, a passenger door storage bin, and a painted steel woodgrain dash panel with gold pinstriping. The four-spoke wood steering wheel fronts a Warner Precision 75-mph barrel speedometer, an ammeter, an oil pressure gauge, and a Stewart-Warner water temperature gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 94k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The rumble bench seat is trimmed in matching black upholstery and folds away behind the cabin. The 288ci inline-six was developed for the Series 80 and was factory rated at 70 horsepower. A Carter carburetor and an aftermarket air cleaner are fitted, and the engine was last serviced in 2020 according to the seller. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission. An aftermarket fuel pump has been installed. Engine stamping 8014676 is shown above and appears on the chassis tag in the gallery. It is also listed on the title as the VIN.
