This 1929 Stutz Model M cabriolet is a non-running project finished in two-tone red and black over a tan vinyl interior. It retains a 322ci inline-eight paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a tan convertible top, luggage rack, ventilating windshield, rumble seat, cowl lights, and dual side-mount spares. The car was purchased by its late owner in the 1960s and reportedly spent approximately two decades on display at the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum in Buffalo, New York, prior to 2018. This Model M is now offered on dealer consignment with two keys, historical documents, and New York registration. The Model M was produced by the Indianapolis-based Stutz Motor Car Company for 1929, and this example is finished in red with black fenders and running boards. Additional exterior details include a tan convertible top, a fold-out luggage rack, cowl lights, and polished front and rear bumpers. The selling dealer states that the vehicle has been repainted, and close-up photos of paint imperfections are provided in the gallery below. Stickers from the Horseless Carriage Club of America and the 1969 Glidden Tour are present on the windshield. Red-painted 20″ wire wheels wear polished Stutz hubcaps and are mounted with 6.50-20 Denman whitewall tires. Dual matching spare wheels are mounted on the front fenders, and stopping power is provided by Lockheed hydraulic drum brakes at all four corners. The cabin features a bench seat with a center armrest upholstered in tan vinyl along with matching door panels, a black-painted dashboard, and maroon carpets. The car is equipped with a tilt-out ventilating windshield, a cowl ventilation system, and a rumble seat with step plates and tan upholstery. The seats were reportedly retrimmed in 1988, and a missing passenger roll-up window handle and wear in the carpeting are depicted in the gallery. The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a central gauge cluster that houses a barrel-type speedometer, an ammeter, and gauges for oil pressure, engine temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 92k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The 322ci “Vertical Eight” inline-eight features a single overhead camshaft and two spark plugs per cylinder. The selling dealer states the car has not been started in approximately eight years and will require mechanical reconditioning. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is visible underneath.
