This 1932 Chevrolet Confederate cabriolet was acquired by the seller in 1965 and underwent a body-off refurbishment in the last 40 miles. Work included repainting the body in its current shade of light yellow and black, refinishing the chrome trim, refurbishing the 194ci inline-six and three-speed manual transmission, reupholstering the seats in brown leather, and installing a replacement tan soft top. Additional equipment includes a rear-mounted Potter trunk, a rumble seat, running boards, dual brake lights, fender-mounted spares, yellow-tinted foglights, a spotlight, and a heater. This Confederate is now offered with spare parts, literature, refurbishment records, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name, listing the vehicle as a 1931 model. The body was removed from the frame and stripped to bare metal before receiving a two-stage repaint in light yellow and black. Body repairs were reportedly performed at that time with lead filler followed by a plastic filler skim coat, and the wood frame is said to have been rebuilt. The chrome trim was also refinished and a replacement tan soft top installed. Features include running boards, twin brake lights, bumper-mounted driving lamps with yellow lenses, a spotlight, and a rear-mounted Potter trunk. A dent below the hood, paint chips, and other blemishes are shown in the gallery below. Color-matched 18″ wire wheels are wrapped in 5.50-18 Firestone wide-whitewall tires, and matching spares wrapped in Denman rubber are mounted on either fender. The car is equipped with four-wheel drum brakes. The seating surfaces were reupholstered in brown leather reportedly sourced from Hampton Coach, and the cabin features matching door panels, a black dashboard, and rubber floor covers. A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an 80-mph speedometer and gauges monitoring oil pressure, amperage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer indicates 82k miles, less than 50 of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown. A rumble bench seat upholstered in matching brown leather folds away behind the main cabin. The 194ci inline-six is equipped with a downdraft carburetor and is said to have been overhauled during the refurbishment. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission that was also refreshed during current ownership. The factory “free-wheeling” system has been disabled per the seller. Additional underside photos are available in the gallery. A handful of photos from the refurbishment are viewable below. Binders of records are included in the sale, along with an uninstalled AM radio, literature, and several spare parts.
