This 1932 Chrysler CP Eight is one of 3,198 sedans produced for the model year and was purchased by the seller out of Pennsylvania in 2013. An ensuing refurbishment was completed in 2021 and included refinishing the car in blue with black fenders and beltline trim over gray cloth upholstery. Power comes from a 299ci inline-eight paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Features include a Zenith carburetor, an electric fuel pump, dual brake lights, a fold-down luggage rack, rear-hinged rear doors, dual side-mount spare tires, cream-painted beltline pinstriping, cowl lamps, turn signals, rear window shades, and rear passenger footrests. This CP Eight is now offered with factory and reproduction books, spare parts, a battery charger, refurbishment records and photos, and Alabama registration in the seller’s name. The body was removed during the 2010s refurbishment and repainted in its current blue with black fenders and beltline trim as well as cream-painted pinstriping. Features include polished bumpers, a Chrysler-branded fold-down luggage rack, dual taillights, turn signals, rear-hinged rear doors, running boards, cowl lamps, a tilt-out split windshield, dual horns, and a polished radiator surround with a gazelle hood ornament. The bumpers, headlights, and tail-light housings were not re-chromed during the refurbishment according to the seller. The 17″ cream-painted wire wheels wear chrome Chrysler-branded hubcaps and are mounted with Firestone Deluxe Champion bias-ply tires. Dual fender-mounted spare wheels are fitted with matching tires. The CP rides on a 125″ wheelbase and features semi-elliptical leaf springs at all four corners. Braking is handled by hydraulic four-wheel drums. The cabin features front and rear benches trimmed in gray pleated and tufted cloth along with matching door panels and blue carpets. Features include wood accents on the dashboard and doors, door pockets, sun visors, a dome light, rear window shades, and rear passenger footrests. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a body-color steel dash and an engine-turned panel housing a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for amperage, oil pressure, and water temperature. The fuel level gauge is inoperable. The five-digit odometer shows 5,200 miles, 100 of which were added since the refurbishment according to the seller. Total mileage is unknown. The 299ci inline-eight was factory rated at 100 horsepower. The engine is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment, and a Zenith carburetor was fitted. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission with free-wheeling. The transmission was also rebuilt during the refurbishment, and an electric fuel pump was added under current ownership. A collection of photos taken before and during the refurbishment can be seen in the gallery below. Factory and reproduction books are included in the sale along with refurbishment records. The collection of spare parts includes a Stromberg DXR-3 carburetor, a factory fuel pump, and front license plate brackets, all of which can be seen in the gallery. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration.
