1934 Pontiac Series 603 Straight Eight Sport Coupe

This 1934 Pontiac Economy Straight Eight is a two-door sport coupe finished in two-tone red with a beige cloth interior. It is powered by a 223ci straight-eight paired with a three-speed manual transmission, and features include wire wheels, a retractable rear window, a rumble seat, and an external trunk. The car underwent a refurbishment consisting of a repaint, frame refinish, an engine rebuild , and replacement of the interior upholstery, headliner, and carpet during prior ownership in 2021. Work performed since the selling dealer’s acquisition out of California in February 2022 included an oil change and adjustment of the brakes. This Series 603 Sport Coupe is now offered in Oregon with refurbishment photos and a clean Arizona title. Featuring a 117″ wheelbase, the Eight was available in seven Fisher-built body configurations for the 1934 model year. This example wears a two-tone red finish that was applied during the refurbishment according to the seller. Features include fender-mounted lights, a single windshield wiper, and a rear-mounted storage trunk mounted to the luggage rack. Powder-coated wire wheels are fitted with Pontiac-branded hubcaps and wide whitewall tires. A pair of spares are housed within the painted fender-mounted carriers. Beige cloth covers the bench seat and door panels, while color-matched carpeting protects the floors. Woodgrain trim adorns the dash and window surrounds, and features include a manually-controlled fresh air intake vent, centralized throttle and choke controls, and a retractable rear window. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts an instrument cluster featuring a 95-mph speedometer flanked by gauges monitoring fuel level, coolant temperature, charge status, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 76k miles, and true mileage is unknown. The rumble seat pictured features tan upholstery, and a carpeted floor liner is installed for the rear passengers. The rebuilt 223ci straight eight features a single carburetor and produced approximately 84 horsepower when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a floor-mounted three-speed manual transmission. An oil change and brake adjustment was completed in preparation for the sale according to the seller.
