This 1937 Ford cabriolet is powered by a 221ci flathead V8 that features Offenhauser cylinder heads, dual Stromberg carburetors, and an aftermarket intake manifold and is paired with a three-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in blue over a brown vinyl interior, and additional modifications include a front disc brake conversion, updated wiring, an alternator, and more. The car was acquired by the seller’s father circa 2014 before being inherited in 2019, and fluid checks were performed in February 2020. This Ford convertible is now offered with a period brochure and a clean California title in the seller’s name. Fords featured a redesigned V-shaped grille with fine horizontal bars as well as faired-in headlights for the 1937 model year. This example is finished in blue with a tan soft top and is equipped with chrome mirrors, an antenna, and a rumble seat with rear-mounted steps. Imperfections on the left front fender, left running board, and hood can be seen in the gallery below. Color-matched steel artillery wheels wear chrome covers and trim rings, and are mounted with Firestone 6.00-16 bias-ply blackwall tires featuring pie crust sidewalls. A matching spare is located behind the driver’s seat. Front disc brakes have reportedly been installed. The interior has been retrimmed in brown vinyl and features a radio, a period turn signal switch, and a tan rubber floor mat. A tear in the lower right edge of the bench seat can be seen in the gallery. The car is said to feature updated wiring and fuses. A banjo-spoke steering wheel frames factory instruments including a 100-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for fuel, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. Just over 68k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, with total mileage unknown. The 221ci flathead V8 was rated at 85 horsepower when new and features Offenhauser cylinder heads, dual Stromberg 97 carburetors on an aftermarket intake manifold, a chrome alternator, and other bright trim. Fluid checks were carried out by the seller in February 2020. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Additional underside photos are viewable below. A period brochure is included in the sale.
