This 1940 Ford Deluxe convertible coupe was refurbished under previous ownership and spent time in Canada before it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021. The car is finished in maroon over tan upholstery, and power comes from a 221ci flathead V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a Columbia two-speed rear end. Features include a vacuum-operated tan soft top, dual-exit exhausts, a front grille bar, an Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold and cylinder heads, a Holley four-barrel carburetor with a cast aluminum air filter assembly, an electric secondary fuel pump, a 12-volt electrical system, an electric cooling fan, turn signals, an AM radio, and an under-dash water temperature gauge. New mufflers were reportedly installed in October 2021, at which time an oil change was performed. This Ford Deluxe is now offered with a tan top boot and a clean Maine title. The car is said to have been repainted in its current Mandarin Maroon under previous ownership and features chrome bumpers, chevron taillights, a Ford-script locking gas cap, rear fender skirts, dual side-view mirrors, turn signals, and a Ford-branded front bumper guard. Paint bubbling is noted on the left rear fender, and the left-rear fender skirt does not sit flush according to the selling dealer. The body-color steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and trim rings, and they are mounted with 600R16 Coker Classic whitewall radial tires that were installed in 2013. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted in the trunk. The vacuum-operated tan soft top features a zip-out glass rear window and is stowed under a matching top boot. The selling dealer notes that the top requires assistance to open and close. Stopping power is provided by hydraulic drum brakes at all four corners, and a brake pulsation is noted by the selling dealer. The cabin features seats trimmed in tan upholstery along with matching door panels, tan rear carpets, and a matching front floor mat. Features include an AM radio, front lap belts, and a locking glovebox with an inset clock. A split is noted in the driver-side floor mat, and the hand throttle knob is disconnected. The two-spoke steering wheel shows cracks in the rim and frames a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. A Sunpro water temperature gauge is mounted below the dash, and the factory water temperature gauge does not work. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles, and total mileage is unknown. The 221ci flathead V8 was rated at 85 horsepower when new and is fitted with an Offenhauser intake manifold and aluminum cylinder heads, a Holley 390-cfm carburetor, a cast aluminum air filter assembly, and a 12-volt electrical system with an alternator. A Walker radiator is also fitted along with an electric cooling fan. An oil change was performed in October 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission and a Columbia two-speed rear end. An electric secondary fuel pump was fitted under previous ownership, and new mufflers were reportedly installed in October 2021.
