This 1940 Ford Deluxe woodie station wagon was reportedly sold new in California and remained with its original owner until 1987. It was refurbished and modified in 2017 with the installation of an over-bored 350ci Chevrolet V8, Tremec five-speed manual transmission, TCI frame with an airbag suspension, and replacement maple bodywork. The car was refinished in green with maple accents over brown upholstery, and additional equipment includes a Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor, a 12-volt electrical system, a 9″ rear end, a dual-exit exhaust with electric cut-outs, Wilwood power-assisted front disc brakes, turn signals, and a VintageAir HVAC system. This modified Ford woodie was purchased by the seller in 2022, and it is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name. The steel bodywork is said to have been repainted in Yosemite Green during the refurbishment, and replacement maple body panels were also installed. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, turn signals, door hinge-mounted mirrors, running boards, a black vinyl roof panel, sliding side windows, dual taillights, and a clamshell tailgate. Black-painted 15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and trim rings, and they are mounted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires. A TCI frame with an airbag suspension was installed during the refurbishment, and stopping power is provided by Wilwood power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums. The cabin features bench seating trimmed in brown upholstery, while dark brown carpets line the floors. Equipment includes a Vintage Air HVAC system, bright dash trim, a locking glovebox with an inset clock, and lap belts. The black two-spoke steering wheel fronts a painted steel dashboard housing a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. A Sunpro 8k-rpm tachometer is mounted on the steering column. The five-digit odometer is missing a tumbler, and the seller added approximately 500 miles. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 350ci Chevrolet V8 is said to have been bored .030 over and fitted with Keith Black Performance pistons before it was installed along with a Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock air filter, and a 12-volt alternator. An oil change was performed in February 2024. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a 9″ rear end. The dual-exit exhaust system is equipped with electric cut-outs.
