This 1941 Cadillac Series 62 convertible is finished in black over red and powered by a 346ci L-head V8 paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Features include a tan convertible top, red-painted 15″ wheels with chrome hub caps, whitewall tires, chrome bumpers with overriders, and a split front windshield. The car was purchased by the current owner in 2020 after a refurbishment was completed under prior ownership. Subsequent maintenance has consisted of installing two six-volt Optima batteries, replacing the water pump, and rebuilding the starter motor, generator, and voltage regulator. This Series 62 convertible is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a pair of fender skirts and a clean California title in the owner’s name. The body has been repainted in black, and chrome trim adorns the grille, hood, fenders, quarter panels, front and rear bumpers, and light surrounds. Features include a split front windshield, bumper overriders, a Cadillac flying goddess hood ornament, and a polished single-exit exhaust with a Cadillac emblem. The seller notes that the power-operated tan convertible top does not work. Red-painted 15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires. The car is equipped with drum brakes on all four corners, and a spare tire is mounted in the trunk. The cabin features bench seating upholstered in red leather with matching door panels and carpets along with a brown dashboard. Equipment includes a column shifter, a cigarette lighter, vent windows, a clock, and a factory radio. The seller notes the radio and clock do not work. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, fuel level, and oil pressure. An aftermarket coolant temperature gauge is mounted beneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 25k miles, approximately 50 of which have been added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown. Power is provided by a 346ci V8 equipped with a 90-degree L-head and factory rated at 150 horsepower. Service completed under current ownership reportedly included rebuilding the carburetor and replacing the water pump, spark plugs, exhaust manifold gaskets, oil pan gasket, and fuel lines. A coolant overflow bottle has been installed, and the starter motor, generator, and voltage regulator are said to have been rebuilt. Twin six-volt Optima batteries are wired in parallel and additional grounding straps have been added. The seller states an oil leak was repaired, and absorbent material was added to the rear of the oil pan in September 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The seller states the shifter linkage was adjusted and the transmission fluid changed under current ownership.
