Year: 1941

This 1941 Lincoln Continental is one of 400 cabriolets produced for the model year and was refurbished around 2005 and acquired by the selling dealer in 2022. The car is powered by a 292ci V12 paired with a three-speed manual transmission and is finished in blue with a power-operated tan convertible top over blue leather upholstery. Features include a tan top boot, 16″ wheels, Lincoln-script hubcaps, whitewall tires, a rear-mounted spare-tire carrier, fender skirts, push-button door handles, and an AM radio. This Continental is now offered with an owner’s manual, a tool kit, tire-changing tools, and a Pennsylvania title. The Continental was based on the Zephyr platform, and it was introduced for the 1940 model year. Updates for 1941 included the integration of fender-mounted parking lights and push-button door releases. This example was repainted in blue during the aforementioned refurbishment, which is said to have been conducted by Bob Ore Restorations of Erie, Pennsylvania. The power-operated tan soft top has been replaced, and additional features include a tan top boot, a hood ornament, front vent windows, push-button door handles, rear fender skirts, a rear-mounted spare-tire carrier, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Blue-painted 16″ steel wheels with Lincoln-script hubcaps and bright trim rings are mounted with 7.00–16 Firestone whitewall tires. The Continental rode on a 125″ wheelbase, and suspension is composed of transverse leaf springs front and rear. Braking is provided by hydraulically assisted four-wheel drums. The cabin features split front and solid rear bench seats trimmed in blue leather. Appointments include a painted woodgrain-style dashboard, an AM radio, and gold-plated metal trim. The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 110-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for water temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the selling dealer; true mileage is unknown. The 292ci flathead V12 was factory rated at 120 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque, and it was rebuilt during the refurbishment. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The Pennsylvania title carries an “Antique Vehicle” brand.
