This 1948 Willys-Overland Jeepster remained with its previous owning family for 53 years, and it underwent a refurbishment from 1990 to 1995 that included repainting the bodywork in red, reupholstering the interior in tan vinyl, overhauling the 134ci Go-Devil inline-four, and refinishing the frame, rear axle, and suspension components. It features a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive as well as a tan convertible top, 15″ steel wheels with polished hubcaps, and a split front bench seat. This Jeepster was acquired by the seller in 2023 and is now offered with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name. The truck was refinished in red during the refurbishment following bodywork on the rear panel, doors, and quarter panels. It features a tan convertible top, front bumper guards, a bright T-shaped grille bar, a split front windshield, and side curtains with plastic windows as well as chrome-plated fender steps, wrap-around chrome trim, and dual tail lights. The 15″ steel wheels feature polished hubcaps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires measuring 6.70-15″. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners, and a spare tire is mounted at the rear. The truck was factory equipped with an independent front suspension as well as semi-elliptic rubber-mounted transverse front and conventional rear leaf springs. The cabin features a split front bench seat and a rear bench seat that were refurbished in 1995 and reupholstered in tan vinyl. The top boot and armrests were replaced, the floor was repaired, and the interior was primed and painted during the refurbishment. Amenities include a heater, a body-color metal dashboard, a lockable glove compartment, dual horns, and sun visors. The two-spoke steering wheel features a bright horn ring and fronts a centrally mounted instrument panel housing an 80-mph speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, and the seller estimates having added approximately 500 miles. The speedometer does not work, therefore total mileage is unknown. The 134ci Go-Devil inline-four was rated at 63 horsepower and 106 lb-ft of torque when new. It was rebuilt in 1991 during the refurbishment, and work in 2023 included replacing the radiator cap, coolant hoses and clamps, oil-pressure sender switch, fuel hose, and oil pan drain plug gasket. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The driveshaft was rebuilt, and the frame, rear axle, and suspension components were refinished during the refurbishment. The manufacturer’s tag lists the car’s serial number as 77547, though the Virginia title lists the VIN as 77547A.
