This 1950 Hudson Commodore 8 convertible is finished in dark blue with a black canvas top over a burgundy interior and is powered by a 255ci inline-eight mated to a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car is said to have been originally registered in Arizona and spent time in the Netherlands before it returned to the US and was acquired by the seller on BaT in March 2022. Subsequent service involved repairing the hydraulic top and power windows as well as replacing fuel lines and shifter bushings. Equipment includes a windshield visor, a digital radio, JL Audio speakers, an analog clock, and a push-button AM radio. This third-generation Commodore is now offered with a New Jersey title in the seller’s name. The Commodore was introduced in 1941 and was available in coupe, sedan, and convertible body styles. This example was previously finished in silver, and work prior to the seller’s acquisition included replacing portions of the floor pans and repainting the car in its current shade of dark blue. The hydraulic power top was repaired under current ownership. Additional details include a windshield visor, chrome bumpers and trim, Commodore 8 fender badging, dual side mirrors, and a burgundy boot cover. Noted imperfections include paint blemishes and a misaligned top and windows. Red-painted steel wheels wear chrome Hudson-branded hubcaps and are mounted with Goodyear whitewall tires. The Commodore utilized an independent front suspension and four-wheel drum brakes. The cabin houses two rows of bench seats trimmed in burgundy leather along with color-matching interior panels and a woodgrain-style dash and door panel accents. An inoperative push-button AM radio is retained in the dash, while a digital radio mounted beneath the dash is linked with JL Audio speakers. The seller reports that the power windows have been repaired, though the right front window works intermittently. A three-spoke steering wheel fronts instrumentation consisting of a speedometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown. The 255ci inline-eight sends power to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The Supermatic drive does not work. The seller states that fuel lines and shifter bushings were replaced and that the oil was changed under current ownership. Additional underside images are shown in the gallery. Service manuals, spare door cards, and spare parts are included in the sale. The New Jersey title carries a “not the actual mileage” brand.
