This 1952 Mercedes-Benz 220 Sedan is said to be a German-market example that was imported to the United States in 1973 and later brought to Canada following the seller’s acquisition in 2019. The car was subsequently refurbished with work involving rust repair, a repaint in black, and a refresh of the interior with tan cloth upholstery. Power is provided by a 2.2-liter inline-six paired with a column-shifted four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, a sliding black fabric sunroof, a Becker radio, Hella driving lamps, trafficators, and chrome bumpers with overriders. This W187 sedan is now offered in Canada with recent refurbishment records as well as British Columbia registration. Rust is said to have been repaired around the door sills prior to a repaint in black performed as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. The chrome trim pieces were reportedly refinished, and further exterior details include a sliding black fabric sunroof, Hella driving lamps, trafficators, running boards, and rear-hinged front doors with window visors. Black-finished 15″ steel wheels wear Mercedes-Benz-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 195/70 Continental Vanco 2 tires. A full-size spare is affixed to a removable spare mount out back. The car rides on a double-wishbone front suspension with a swing-axle rear setup and features coil springs at all four corners as well as a front sway bar with aftermarket bushings. Braking is handled by four-wheel hydraulic drums. The cabin houses low-back front bucket seats and a rear bench that were retrimmed in tan cloth upholstery. The burl wood trim is said to have been refinished, and additional appointments include a Becker radio, an optional rear speaker, and a passenger-side grab handle. The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 160-km/h speedometer, a clock, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 23k kilometers (14k miles), and total mileage is unknown. The 2.2-liter M180 inline-six is equipped with a dual carburetors and aftermarket air cleaners. The car has been converted to a 12-volt electrical system, per the seller. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted four-speed manual transmission. The clutch and pressure plate are said to have been replaced as part of the refurbishment. Additional underside images are presented in the gallery below. The car does not have a title, as it is being sold in a country that does not issue titles. It is being sold on its British Columbia registration.
